Fujimoto is one of my favorite mangaka ! I have read all his works except Chainsaw Man. And damn, « Just listen to the song » is so simple yet so intense. I also really enjoyed « Look back », and seeing it adapted in anime was amazing. 💖 « Fire punch » is a masterpiece, the world building, the horror, the ambiance, everything is perfect. Fujimoto just know how to create different settings and I really love all works he did from now. ❤️‍🔥

Moonlight Kid is key. As so many characters in Berserk, the thing is: this story is a tragedy. In the end evil triumph, and the good guys suffer. The logical way to end it all will make everyone cry again, got frustrated and curses the heavens for it. Miura knew that and wanted to change, who likes to suffer and live in misery, right? I just wished he was more serious with his resolve. People want a big battle, Guts versus Griffith in an epic showdown, they want satisfaction where its only suffering and to do that you must betray the story that has be consistently grounded so far. I believe Koji will do just that, giving people what they want, not what the story demands. But doing this it will downgrade Berserk for a generic "Happy Ending" status, instead something more faithful for what that universe is: struggle. ⭐⭐

Berserk is a very personal story and with a lot of deep characters that go through a lot, I really don't understand questioning someone liking a character like Serpico when there are plenty of other morally questionable people with weird opinions about Berserk.

ok attempt but my dad works for manga, heres the last chapter: -guts swings sword -griffith teleports behind him "pffft nice try kid" -cuts guts in half, he is dead -casca: "finally it is finished lets end this" -turn to final page -double spread of griffith/casca marriage scene, griffith now has guts hairstyle and is holding the dragonslayer skyward

Once again, I must state that people who read it as 'committing mass murder as blackface' are blind. The only reason Izumi attacked everyone while wearing makeup to make himself look black was so that he would look farthest from what he actually is, and so that he wouldn't be identified in his everyday life. He planned to mass murder people and then die himself so that he could return to the gantz room all based off of a feeling. It's not a racist thing. It's nothing like anyone makes it out to be. It's as simple as he's just hiding his identity. That's it.

I am reading the comments and i am very glad to see that you like Reika, she is my favorite character, besides the obvious reasons why (she is hot) the main reaons is that she had everything to be the weakest character of the main cast because you wouldn't imagine a idol being good in a fight and she turns out to become one of the strongests, i think she is the only character of the main cast who got 100 points 2 times and that says a lot about her skills, i agree with you that she was done very dirty in the final arc, she deserved so much better, this is why i don't see the final chapter as a happy ending, i would actually defend the rushed ending if she was alive to be honest, also i don't like to slander Tae, I think she is cute and all but Reika had a possibility of being a much better love interest to Kurono, especially in the final arc where 90% of Tae's lines is just "Kei-chan", and Reika using her 100 points to bring Tae back to make Kurono happy made me tear up a little, my respect for her increased even more And you know what is even more strange?The author likes Reika a lot, he keeps making new drawnings and art of her after so many years, she clearly gets special treatment over the other Gantz characters, almost every month he post a new drawning of her on Twitter and owns her figures too, he also almost never post Tae, which makes me think "if he loves her that much then why he did that with her character?" It just doens't make any sense to me, sorry for the long text, seing another Reika fan got me excited

The Behelit is there to sacrifice that closest to who hold it. Guts has the one taken from the Slug Count. For awhile, I have thought that the monent for Guts to sacrifice would come, and he would sacrifice not his comrades, but his anger; for nothing can be closer to him than that boiling font of hatred within him.

I could keep going but I'll stop at 15 haha

I think it will end by grifith betryaing the god hand to help his freinds. And will end up dying to defeat all evil. And instead of reverting back to his crippled form he will go back to pre torture griffirh. And resolve his beefs with guts and casca before death and redeem his legacy and image

In Berserk, there are many that have stuck with me but if i had to pick just one, its from the Spring flowers of distant days mini arc. At the end, after Guts lets go of the flower he begins to walk away. Then it cuts to his face looking up at the sky and then the second one he lowers his head with his eyes closed as he walks forward. Those two have left a mark on me. Without saying any words it conveys so much of Guts resilient nature but also shows us the reader that you can be the same way. Even if your tired, just keep going forward.

Great overview man. There's deff some awesome manga you missed though: Takemitzu Zamurai panels feel like genuine paintings with so much emotion in every spread, especially with how much animalism and fury you can tell drives the main two characters. The last page of Bokutachi Ga Yamarishita is my personal fav, that is probably the most layered protagonist in any manga I've read, and that page's contrast with the rest of the grungy style is perfect. The massive multi page spreads in Sengoku Youko should get some credit just for their ambition. I also think Murata is actually shown up when you look back to Hagiwara's Bastard!!!, it's definitely an older art style and doesn't have that digital crispness, but the detail and creativity and scale I think surpass Murata. Gunnm, Akira, Nausicaa, Lone wolf and Cub, and everything made by Jirou Taniguchi deserve to be talked about more too.

My personal favorite scene in manga was from Ajin: Demihuman Chapter 19, it's the pannel where a passenger liner crashes into a building, solidifying the Bad Guys morals towards human life, as well as kicking off the conflict between humans and demihumans

I want to sing Bleach’s praises a bit because it has some fantastic panels. Aizen’s speech about how Gods are created is bone chilling, yet heartbreaking in retrospect. Starrk’s death being open for interpritation if he was just coping or truly did fill the hole in his chest. Gin breaking Rukia’s spirit to give her hope shows both sides of that coin (Rukia sobbing and the world crashing down, yet the smile and hope from Gin). And all the really quiet moments where a character doesn’t need to say anything, we just see a small glimpse of their eyes and we know exactly what they are thinking.
