Thanks Miriam and Chris - great video! Lots of good info and tips. We're two full timers using a Nature's Head for the last 3 years. When we started out the coir bricks were 9 litres. Now they're 15 litres. I was interested that you use the full 15 litre brick with 2.5 litres of water - which obviously works OK. I have (annoyingly) been trying to approximate 9 litres. I have also noticed the "stringyness" in the coir gets tangled in the mixer ends. Recently our compost became so heavy (after only one week) that the washer and surclip on the left end of the turner became dislodged and the turning arm popped out altogether. I suspected the stringy bits in the coir may be the problem. How do you deal with them? Do you remove them as much as you can? Do you think cutting them up a bit might help? And just one other question ... an American NH user video I've seen uses the broken up coir brick dry - no water at all added and he does not use any composting spray medium either. Makes me wonder ... what do you think?

There are so many variables that it’s hard to say! Trial and error is the best way lol. We had the OGO in our last van and are putting it in our new one. It’s smaller so different ratios again! 😅

Gday Chris. Im seriously looking at one of these to replace my 200 series. Biggest potential issue I have is that I really use the 200 offroad - lots of tough offroading as well as touring. How do you rate these as an offroad vehicle for places like the high country / tassie / cape york etc? Cheers

Hey buddy!! Don’t we all wish there was that one vehicle that ticks all the boxes. The biggest issue is the physical size mate through tight tracks. I guess you just have to weigh up which you do more of mate and make the decision from there. Sorry I couldn’t help anymore hey

Hobartian here. Welcome to perochial local government! I,m sure that if “tourists” from the largest east Asian country, where 99% of manufactured articles are from, were to come here and will-nilly film….the bureaucrats would not say “boo to a goose”! I filmed in a bakery in Ross…and on the street there a few months ago….so far, nothing. Thay will eventually realize they are shooting themselves in the foot!

Little technical, experience, knowledge Question fir Chris, I have a 2WD, SS so very wide low profile tyres, I checked out Perlubie, the main board with all the rules, etc, 3 months ago, winter time only 2 van there, I reckon I could have driven into site 1-2- chucked heaps if the dry seaweed/grass on my site then reversed in for a night or two, then got out very easily!? But, I don’t have toilet, but there was a toilet block right there for day/shelter visitors! Wot do ya think coulda, shoulda???

Hi. Sick rig! But genuine question. Cos as much as we love it, we probably can only afford half of the amount that you said this cost which is $450k approx. And that’s maxing it. So just want some clarity. Does it mean GMSV gave the car to you for free so you didn’t physically pay it with money but rather with advertising their car? Also, if that’s the case, do you have to give it back to them when you decide you want to change to a different car. No offense meant. For us with common jobs and dreaming about something like this. Haha I wish they gave it to me!! We pay for the vehicle at a discounted rate then build it from there. It’s not a huge discount either but we do get extra loan trucks as we need them too to run in

Coco coir and peat moss are both actually “antibacterial” and takes decades to compost in dry climates. The best way to dispose of it is in the rubbish. It has zero benefits to the environment being buried. It’s a waste product that has been marketed brilliantly. My family are commercial hydroponic produce growers, yes, it’s all mostly done with coco coir.

I believe when towing a trailer with an ATM over 3.5t, shackles are not an approved attachment point for safety chains. You need to go straight to the bartlets. Might be worth exploring. 👍🏾

Attaching it to the car is the same just use D shackles. Attaching it to the van is different as it needs high tensile chains which cannot be welded to the A Frame

No more travel KZbin - we’ve been doing it for years. It takes so much time and we have heaps of other stuff we are focusing on these days. We are far too busy! KZbin has always been our smallest platform and the YT caravanning scene is flooded these days 🙃
