Fabulous video Ghouls Garage! You cover the what, why and how of each procedure thoroughly and competently. I am impressed and appreciative. If you aren't usually a teacher, you should consider the profession. (The world needs more practical instruction, less pointy headed indoctrination.) Thank you.

Any particular brand of paint stripper to recommend? I could not see the brand on the can of stripper used for the video. Also, once you use the paint stripper, what do you then do to prevent flash rust and protect the metal before primer is applied? What sort of primer did you use on the A? Thanks, nice info and video. I have a '25 Model T that I want to strip down and paint.

Thanks so much for showing inside wood and brackets, you are so correct not a lot out there of top wood reconditioning. I am getting on to the project after 1.5 year hiatus and move. Lost some pieces , though a pickup project apparently those cab is a 1931 coupe and back of cab is from a 4 dr sedan. The story I was told; that dung WWII if one had a truck was allocated greater fuel ration . So a bit of mix and match. The process is the real fun , making all come together.

That bolt in the front of the engine is the best kept Corvette out there. Without removing it and holding the pushrod out of the way, installing a fuel pump in a SBC Corvette can be very difficult. With the pushrod held up away from the pump arm, installation is a piece,of cake. I learned the secret from the Corvette Forum👍.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned that the pin/bolt that keeps king pin in place was installed backwards. Insert and hammer in from the front, special nut installed in the rear. Also, the shims (two usually for new thrust bearings made currently) should be installed under the thrust bearing so the bearings set on top of the shim.

Why would you not just install a plate and separate gauges under the factory bezel?
@ghoulsgarage95532 жыл бұрын
We thought about it as an option but decided to do a custom dash because it let us add a larger 6.75 radio and tackle the heater situation. When we bought the bronco the heating system was cut out and missing. We also wanted to do something custom and make it a Ghouls Creation of our own. We’re almost done with the ac unit and everything is painted and back in. We will get the next video out by the end of next week so stay tuned and subscribe if you want notified. Have a great day.

No offense, but I ordered a set of the same gauges you purchased and got them to fit without allot of issues. I had to cut more than advertised out of the dash to install them, but the factory bezel fit without any modification and the factory lens fit back over them without a problem.

I didn't go the route of a custom dash but I did use the factory cluster to map out my own new layout with all new Auto Meter gauges. NVU wasn't very helpful with offering a metric solution for speedo at the time I was considering new gauges, Plus the fitment issue you've brought to light I am damn glad I didn't go with NVU.That's pretty horrible for 700+ dollars. hopefully people will see how shitty this kit is. Also what I didn't like about the NVU setup was the fact the gauges are interconnected and likely a proprietary design so if one fails and I need a replacement 10 years down the line will this company be around and still have parts... Or like my setup, order a new gauge, toss out the old, install the new and back in business.
@ghoulsgarage95532 жыл бұрын
Great points and thanks for your comments. We are glad we’re reaching some viewers. To be honest we were upset and I’m sure there aren’t many people that want to make a new dash for the cost involved. Some might even be upset that we decided to do it? For us we wanted to do something different. Hope some like it. Spoiler alert just painted the dash this weekend. It should be going back together in a week or so. Thanks for watching and subscribe if you want to see the results.

This is definitely one of things I am going to do to my 69. The only question I have and am not really sure of> I always thought the power brake Booster got its vacuum from the intake manifold? Am I wrong? I know on the intake manifold there is a connection that there are vacuum lines running to. I always thought you just had to change it from a 2 line to a 3 line vacuum connection.
@ghoulsgarage95532 жыл бұрын
The kit came with a vacuum line that went to the back of there carb. some power brake systems are off the intake but I think the original c3 corvettes went off the rear of the carb. Thanks Ghouls Garage
