Funny story, I was a pre-teen when I saw this movie and I knew nothing about it other than I really wanted to see it and it was supposed to be super scary. Me and a couple friends rented it from a local movie store and I half-jokingly half-sincerely grabbed a spare set of underwear just in case.

SPOILER ALERT My interpretation was that they all did something horrible at some point and their life’s. Something you could never come back from in gods eyes, and as a consequence they’re all experiencing there own version of hell, or going to hell (hence the name Southbound) maybe they wake up at the end and experience it over and over again for eternity. Seeing as at the very end it all connects back to the beginning and you see the horrible things the guys did from the beginning experiencing their hell.

One of my top 10 favorite horror films. Not explaining the backstory of the killers is part of the horror (ie, see The Hitcher, The Thing, etc.). We're seeing the evening from the perspective of the victims, and of course they wouldn't know the backstories. BTW - the writers wrote backstories for each killer, but Roth encouraged them not to include any of that.

I honestly don’t mind watching some shows in sub. Not only it’s a fun way to learn Japanese BUT it’s also a better way to appreciate Japanese culture and their way of thinking 🇯🇵✌🏻 Plus, sub sounds way better when it comes to a lot of Shonen shows where there is so much action and fighting scenes! The only shows I enjoyed watching the English dub is Death Note and Fruits Basket. The rest is all bleck! Sub all the way for me 😌
