If maratha first defeated and cleared nizams from hyderabad than they would capture Delhi, after that they would make pune as cultural capital with chatrapati as head of empire and delhi as administrative capital with peshwa as ruler , they easily get success in defeating abdali and conquer kabul & kandhar ... Maratha lost bcoz they didnt had any Physical or political presence in North india , if you don't have capital in north you can never conquer indian subcontinent...

You could have asked local waqfs about mausoleums before making ignorant accusation. As in any modern economy construction such as mausoleum is the biggest source of employment and patronage in an area. The endowment gardens and agricultural land generated fruit produce water sources and its revenue was used for LANGAR free food while a shelter or school was attached to the tomb. The purpose was to earn continual SAWAB OR MERIT even after death through providing ongoing construction and maintenance employment, free food, shelter, and literacy for the benefit of the economy and local people. The British confiscated waqf lands to reward collaborators in 1858 but the tombs were welfare centres You don't understand the philosophy of mausoleums at least ask the waqf people before talking

Sir , at 1.20 you suggested that Maratha empire was one of the last major powers to loose to the British in 1818. Sir , that distinction goes to the Sikhs who lost there kingdom to the British in 1849. Respect to the Marathas 🫡
@prashantkatti1186 күн бұрын
Sikhs didn't rule the whole of India. Their power was only extended to around the present day Pakistan and Punjab. But the Marathas rule extended from Attock to tamilnadu
@Seema-n4c5i5 күн бұрын
@prashantkatti118 I completely respect your opinion sir. It's absolutely correct what you have mentioned above. However , purely for the fact that the Sikh empire was an Indian empire regardless of it's size and for the fact that they protected our countries borders from invations (which uptill then had mostly happened from that region) for almost 50 years until the British Took over from them and might I add did a comendable job of protecting our borders in that region till 1947 as Will till we took over from them). Also by the time the Sikhs empire was formed in 1798 , the marathas (for whom we all Indians should have emmence respect in our hearts for there accomplishments for not only did they stabalize the politics in the north once the mughals got weak after aurangzebs death in 1706 but also helped in maintaining the balance in the south once the 5 deccan sultanats had met there end) had become considerbly weak to take on attacks from that region if there had been any. If the Sikh empire had not been formed , who knows what out present would have been , just like how if Shivaji Maharaj had not steped up during the later part of the 17th centure againt the mugals and the Adil shah's of bijapur (who knows how the south of India would have been).

@@Seema-n4c5i I know. I only replied to the question about Marathas being the last major power in erstwhile India. Also all the empires ultimately fell into the British hands due to their own selfish interests . So there is nothing to be proud of. Infighting and corruption has led to the fall of Indian empires. There was no unity then. There is no unity now. So nothing to be proud of. I am sorry to sound harsh but this is the reality. Selfishness led us to fight for independence for close to 100 years (1857-1947). And also there was never a revolution for freedom. It was fought individually and with pen and paper and all which we know of. Great and honest people could never stay alive. Even if alive are never given credit for. They die unnamed deaths. Honesty and morality can never exist in this country. The people who stood for right values and principles have been killed or cheated and only the corrupt survived. We are a pretentious, corrupt and selfish society.

Peshwa wanted to establish their own cast superiority. Maratha community was divided among different casts during their rule.Even important Maratha Sardars were distrustful of later days Peshvas.Such situation was not there in the days of Bajirao 1st.

The Marathas dominance in the 18th century, especially post Aurangzeb's demise, with the sole major exception being the unexpected setback in the Third Battle of Panipat, is well documented by both historians and academia. In fact, one good approach to understanding history is to introspect within. It's time that historians, instead of only lauding the Maratha dominations which lasted for only a brief period and is the easiest to do in today's age, analyse the factors owing to which the Marathas were not able to manage a Pan-India empire: was it the deviation from Chattrapati Shivaji's ideal and vision, was it the ruthless raids they carried on in Bengal and Odisha which was as much a part of India and didn't distinct them from some of the tyrants from the Mughal and Sultanate period, or too many egos within the ruling caucus, or other reasons leading to their downfall. By now, we all know the reasons for the downfall of the Mughal empire, post-Aurangzeb, how about understanding why the Maratha empire did not find acceptance, pan-India?
@ushabhende40408 күн бұрын
It is wrong to refer to to ascent of a new peshwa as"ascending the throne". Peshwa was a 'hudda', a post to which the official was appointed. Peshwa was not a monarch. The Chatrapati was the monarch.

Nice dive into the truth of the channels . Palki Sharma also had this outburst on ANI -along with Smitha Prakash that we should also be the face of international news resulting in her news channel. Many real facts have been placed by the guest like "how many wars have been won by USA " never thought on that guys that India could be amongst the very few countries who have actually won wars after the 2nd world war. So thanks again to the host for his great attempt to bring a qualitative podcast , probably the next one after Ranveer ... The accent of this lady is now a days a common feature in the next generation Indians as they having grown and studied in western countries so viewers should restrict the comments to the content instead of the accent I suppose.

All said and done while RAW field agents were truly great people. The organisation itself is a failed one. They failed in Bangladesh. When Mujeeb‘s family was massacred and Sheikh Haseena was ousted . They failed in Sri Lanka. They failed in Nepal. They have failed in Bhutan. They have failed in the Kandahar hijacking. The list is endless. High time, Indian security services came up with something better.

The loss of IIIBattle of Panipat was soley due to overconfidence of PM of Maratha Empire the Peshwa. Every important chieftain tried to dessuade him not to takr women and old with the army marching for battle. However he made it a pilgrimage and battle took a back seat. Resulting in loos of speed and agility.
