Ok so this should also fix the fact my disc drive won't read blu-rays, or games. Just buy a new disc drive, install the og daughterboard into it, and then good to go? The disc drive still reads dvds though. Why is that?

This was a thing with the PS4 also. The PS5 uses two different lasers. One is for DVDs/standard def and one for Blue Rays/game discs.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I do have I question, where can I find this port to purchase. I also have a damaged port on my ultra. I am able to make the repairs myself I have everything needed except for the vertical port. Any insight in obtaining this puzzle piece is greatly appreciated. And again wonderful video very helpful.
@emmitbrooks63922 күн бұрын
I am happy to send you my unit for repair if the purchase of the port is not available. I understand that some information is not given out for business reasons. But I figured it was at least worth the attempt. I know you do great work, I had my ultra screen replaced by you in the past.
@GoCellPhoneRepair16 сағат бұрын
Hi Emmit. This port is available either on mouser.com or digikey.com There may be other sources and eventually I'll put them up on my website or Ebay. It's been a long time since I bought them and I don't have the link right off hand. If you search for "vertical micro USB port" you should be able to find one.

happend to me this morning. I had it on charge last night then turned ot off when I went to bed. I plugged it back in this morning and got this temp thing. I turned it on and changed charger plug for PD charging and seems to be charging. it couldn't even been to hot, if anything too cold.

@GoCellPhoneRepair16 сағат бұрын
If only Sony would allow us access to schematics. It's either a small package capacitor, something obscured from sight, or a component that syncs the heat away too efficiently for you to detect it. This can be challenging to find.

Just replaced my fan according and it still shows me an error message just like in the video what could this be?
@GoCellPhoneRepair16 сағат бұрын
If you see a lot of dust or lint inside it might need further disassembly for cleaning. If the fan is spinning and you've cleaned the cooling system sufficiently then my next guess would be that your thermal paste has degraded or there is something causing the thermal sensor to malfunction or an internal source of excessive heat; possibly something shorted.

fixing phones for ppl really sucks where im from bc people will contact me and not go through with the repair even tho all my prices are super reasonable and i need minimum downpayment of the replacement part at least to start repairs now
@GoCellPhoneRepair16 сағат бұрын
Yeah, that's a tough one. I still get people that take a very long time to pick up and pay for their repairs. If it is not something I normally keep on hand, I do charge an up front fee as it is considered a special order. Some stores do this with all repairs so it is something to consider. If the customer has some money invested already, they are more likely to follow through on their investment.

I am doing a PS5 HDMI port repair myself. This unit had fallen off of a desk and the HDMI port was damaged. I found it to be a pain in tge ass to try to use my soldering iron to remove the port, so i myself used hot air. And cleaned terminals in pcb with solder wic just as you did. Great job! Now i just need to wait for my HDMI port to arrive in the mail.

I always recommend hot air for the removal, it's much easier! Glad to hear that you found the video helpful.

Have you ever had a Switch that just refused to power on? In this case, I was able to get it up and running again. Initially, it looked like a typical bad diode/charging IC, but this one was a little different. Let me know in the comments if you've ever faced a similar issue and how you fixed it.
@chandlerthomas56995 күн бұрын
Do you fix regular switches? Im looking for someone to fix mine, nintendo transfered all my games over except for pokemon because for some dumb reason thats the only game thats not stored on nintendo accounts. I have like 2000 hours worth of data I can’t access anymore, so even if I could just get the switch to turn on, that would be fantastic. I also work in a tech repair shop, I have tried the battery and some other things (cant remember, been awhile) and I found what is possibly water damage but I cleaned it off and it was very minor. I also dont think its a charging IC, as it would have turned on with a replacement battery. We do micro-soldering but when it comes to diagnosing boards and stuff like that it is way above our skill level.

Yep, tore the camera ribbon assembly so bought a new one. Did you ever do a video on replacing that assembly as suggested in this video? I subscribed and searched your vids but didn't see anything. Looks like some fancy folding involved...
@GoCellPhoneRepair6 күн бұрын
I don't know that I ever got to that part. the best thig to do is use your old cable as a guide if possible.
@carlbs115 күн бұрын
@@GoCellPhoneRepair The old cable and a whole lotta pausing the video was key to finding how the two sensors were folded into their slots. I couldn't get things to stay in place so a micro amount of super glue under the four gold contacts was key to getting things to stick enough to get the camera strap over and the retainer on. Got it...and it works. Thank you for the great detailed video. If you ever edit the video, it would be nice to detail how those camera sensors are arranged.
@frvged9 күн бұрын
Great vid, I did everything up until the soldering part, attempted the soldering and thought I could just solder it off without adding solder to help it release, ended up tearing the charge port off and the pins were still connected and wouldn't come off, eventually got them all detatched, now ill need to buy a new logic board.

@GoCellPhoneRepair21 күн бұрын
If you tore off some of the pads they may need to be restored using micro jumper wires. It's not an easy procedure but can be done. Some of the pads are ground/redundant so it really depends on which ones are missing.
