Yes. That is normal for that kind of repair not to show an image right away, but in some cases it will show right away.

Am i right in thinking the filter you replaced is a resistor?.If so what is its value?.

Unfortunately, I don't know the exact specs. I would assume Ohms but as far as the rest I'd be guessing. The PS4 uses 35V 1amp for similar functions so maybe something close to that.

No power repairs for the PS5 generally run in the $100-150 range depending on what is causing the problem.

Definitely. In the short term, they often bridge connections inside of the power supply causing it to fail. Long term, they may cause corrosion to components on the motherboard due to the waste that they produce.

As far as I know, there is a certain defect rate in the manufacturing process. Temperature changes and physical stress like shock from movement may speed up the failure. Long story short, there are just a certain percentage of capacitors in use out there that will fail earlier than expected. Ceramic capacitors are very cheap to produce but unfortunately since they fail "closed" they often create a short to ground which prevents the device from working at all.
