I wasn’t going to post this, because it’s a crazy theory, but I have nothing to lose and I don’t care if I’m completely wrong. Everyone is expecting iPhones at this event, but what if there are no iPhones at all? There is precedent for this. In 2020 at the “Time Flies” event, everyone was expecting the iPhone 12, but they only announced the Apple Watch Series 6 (Time) and the iPad Air (Flies). The iPhone 12 was released at a later event in October. “Glowtime” is giving me very similar vibes. Glow is the code name for MacOS Sequoia. This makes me think that it will only be Macs and the Apple Watch. There are more reasons this theory makes sense: The M4 chip is already out and being mass produced for iPad Pros. They could easily release new Macs because M4 chips have been in production for months. We do not yet know if TSMC is producing A18 chips at a high enough volume or yield-rate. The fact that the first iteration of Apple Intelligence won’t be ready until October. If Apple releases Macs in September and iPhones in October, Apple can launch the iPhone with Apple Intelligence on day one. Apple can already update iOS on unopened new iPhone boxes with their Presto tool, so they could even push the software update the night before launch day. The original Apple Watch was announced September 9, 2014. This event is exactly ten years later. I have a feeling that there is a lot more to the Apple Watch Series 10 than currently anticipated. Even though rumors state that Apple is having trouble with implementing new health features, I am optimistic that the already implemented health feature will increase in precision and accuracy. For example, the heart rate monitor and ECG have been around for a while now, but the precision and accuracy could be significantly increased on this latest model. I also believe that Apple and Masimo have secretly settled out of court with an NDA, and their partnership / licensing agreement will be announced at the event. This will allow Apple to continue to promote the blood oxygen sensor and of course the new sleep apnea detection feature. @kashmir883 MacOS being released on iPad actually makes total sense to me. Apple has been criticized (rightfully so) for announcing Apple Intelligence so early when some of the features won’t even be released until Spring of next year. Apple has the potential to shock everyone if MacOS Sequoia is available for the M4 iPad Pro on day one of Sequoia’s release. Even if it is only for the 1TB+ models that have adequate enough storage and RAM to allow for partitioning and dual booting, I’d be happy!

Hi Randy as a Designer the iPad Mini 6 has been my go to because our work in Adobe illustrator everything is pixel perfect and the screen size don’t matter it’s just portability. I use the iPad as a launcher for YT and Adobe with Apple Pencil… I just can’t justify the iPad Pro even as a pro because I have all the apps I need and like MacOS you don’t have to be on the latest version to get the best experience when you have external display mirroring. I am years you get than you and I didn’t have a PC era it was the iPod Touch streight to the Mac and iPhone iPad for me

Cameras will have a higher pixel counts (especially 3x and wide), the regular iphone pro will get the zoom of the 15proMax. Raw and ProRes will see some enhancements (maybe internal recording instead of on external storage, whatever the settings - but limited in terms of memory), Maybe, HOPEFULLY, 32bit Float audio (even tho it's not about the camera, it's a massive plus for video recording). Even better stabilizing (walk correction maybe?). and let's be crazy: integrated ND filter 😅

I bought two iPhone 15 pros just because of the cameras, from 12 mini, I was so lucky to choose pro. Now hoping it will last until iPhone 20 when it’s time to replace. I also feel bad for not getting Max after realizing it has a bigger tele camera, but it’s too big. iPhone 15 pro is heavy but feels great I have to say, feels like the perfect size not too far from mini.

Apple should’ve did the right thing last year and put 8 gigs of ram in all the phones that way at least the people that bought 15s last year wouldn’t feel cheated. I bought the 15+ and I love my phone. I have 256 gig. I’m not gonna worry about the AI features this year, I’ve had this phone for almost a year now. Got it back in October. and you know Apple knew that the AI features w were gonna come out the following year. That’s the killer. I just feel it’s a money crab on apples Part!

Apple has always been this way! If you give-in, and buy a worthless iPhone 16, you'll validate Apple's decision to harass customers for sales. If you like to say you care about long-term use, making sensible financial decisions, etc. - It is time to move to a Galaxy S24, or Pixel 8, and keep your old iPhone 13 Mini (or 15) for iMessage to avoid harassment. And just FYI, yeah, Androids actually do software support better than iPhones. Despite costing 400$ brand new, and having "only" 4 Years of updates, my S21 FE now has the Circle-to-Search and Gemini features from the latest Android 15 launch, despite being 3 Year Old hardware! I'd like to see an iPhone do that.

That is exactly what apple wants you to think every year, and I guess it is effective for some people. Me, personally I will keep my iPhone 15 plus for at least three years before upgrading.

There is a function in settings called "Type to Siri" it is available on all iPhone models with the latest software. You can find it in either Accessibility or in Siri Settings. (Edit: It is also available on Macs and iPads.)

the iphone 15 uses the iphone 14 pro max chip witch wont get AI, so getting a new phone with an old chip should be your main concern, good buying habbit is get the best of the best and renew it every 4 years, and by the 4 years comes up something your phone wont do will be a new feature

Wow. You can type to Siri using power button(when u hold it). Just go to accessibility settings~> Siri~> Type to Siri(when holding power button). Using it on iPhone XR and can type to Siri with text replacement. Works great.

So you say you don‘t want to buy the new iPhone every year because it is not a good financial decision to buy a new 1000 bucks phone for just incrementalchanges. But in the ende you find reasons to still buy the newes iPhone because of the incremental changes?

I don’t feel cheated. The business environment of today is not same as of yesteryears. Apple is changing good bad or otherwise. But let’s be cautious. The new software features that I will be locked out of I don’t care for. It is not worth the money to upgrade. This year but next year and year after that. This trend I don’t like. Suggest to list all software features that will be locked. And put a price tag on it for your life style. Make sure it is justified.

I’m on the 13 mini and happy with it, my only complaints like yours is no usb-c and the camera system. The base 16 and SE4 are peaking my interest but even then I’ll wait it out and see.

Cause all the shareholders basically forced Apple to do all these stupid AI 🤖 features they probably didn’t give a crap about. (I can’t stand AI) And the “A17 Pro” chip was the one most powerful for these features to work reliably. Think all the 16 models and all the future iOS devices will ship with this new software.
