I’m an individual that was born with a disability. I’ve tried to use MacBooks twice in my life and I’ve come to the realization that the iPad Pro is the best computing device for me. iPadOS may not be perfect and I may want to do some editing and final cut for the iPad and I may have to find some workarounds for certain things, but a touchscreen and portability is much more important to me than anything else. In fact it’s difficult for me to use a traditional computer Keyboard it is actually easier for me to hold my brand new 11 inch M4 iPad Pro with one terabyte storage on my lap and do things that way the iPad Pro is and will be my main computing device going forward warts and all. Thank you for a great video and a thoughtful process.

as a fellow music producer and content creator (and day, well not one but since 3G, iPhone user) i couldn’t agree more with everything you said! this is exactly how i’ve been (happily!) using my ipad. as a long time listener of the tailosive tech podcast - i remember and shared exactly the excitement when the 2018 ipad pro dropped (pre apple silicon macs, unbelievable). i was in a very similar headspace, trying to replace my macbook (i went mac mini for my studio work and even tried to use my ipad as an external display on the go lol). finally, around last year, i accepted the ipad for what it is (to me) - an incredibly personal piece of tech for getting organized, scheduling out my day, taking notes - and of course to watch videos like this one :)

iPad great for single tasks, single focus. For multitasking or using many windows, a proper PC is better.

I like this. I agree. I typically operate in the focus mode, single task mindset

great video. I purchased the first iPro when it was released w/the intent of using it as my primary computing device for my real estate business - long story short, it was horrible and I give it away after 6 months. I walked back into the iPad space when the M2 came out and found that it worked the way I wanted it to work when I purchased that 1st iPad Pro back in the day. Now with the M4 and the larger screen real estate and the magic keyboard, its works perfectly for my use case. These days, the iPad is used for about 90% of what I do on a daily.

Hi Randy as a Designer the iPad Mini 6 has been my go to because our work in Adobe illustrator everything is pixel perfect and the screen size don’t matter it’s just portability. I use the iPad as a launcher for YT and Adobe with Apple Pencil… I just can’t justify the iPad Pro even as a pro because I have all the apps I need and like MacOS you don’t have to be on the latest version to get the best experience when you have external display mirroring. I am years you get than you and I didn’t have a PC era it was the iPod Touch streight to the Mac and iPhone iPad for me

It depends on your setup, I have been using iPad Pro 2018 as my main laptop since 2018, and I only have to remote into one of my work PC laptop when I have to do work for that office, I could do it on the iPad too but I am just used to it since I h😂ave everything ready there.

basically, ipadOS is a result of what ios for a specific device looks like, in this case the ipad.

so since you finally understand I POS, can you explain to me why is it so ridiculously idiotic? Like why can’t I use a Finder like a normal person? Or generally why is iPadOS so buggy if you finally understand it? Also, I would like to know why is it so hard to do pretty much anything on iPad compared to any normal computer? I’m just wondering you know because as you say you not understand I so can you can you explain to me because you understand it my question is this, why is the West so shitty PS I’m intentionally not going to correct typos because this was created on the iPad using dictation so if iPad screwed I’m gonna leave it there for everybody to see

@@RandyNexus I saved it for later. I hate iPad swear to god. what a piece of shit product. You know why? Because it is the MOST ADVANCED COMPUTER HARDWARE IN THE WORLD. NERFED. It should be a crime against humanity (or at least geek part of humanity) to do to iPad what apple is doing to it. I am moving to windows, and never getting anything apple computer related again. what a joke of a company 🤡
@RandyNexus6 ай бұрын
Brotha, I address this very issue with my iPad needing macOS video. The hardware is nerfed for no reason. Why did it even get the M4 chip?? THIS video was to acknowledge WHY the OS is the way it is, instead of what we (or more directly, I) want from it. You don’t need to watch it later tbh, I’ll just tell you the highlights now: it’s not gonna replace the Mac because it can’t. Even tho I’ve wanted it to. The Mac will always be the way it is because it’s pre-iPhone. Every product after iPhone has borrowed from its iOS ecosystem because the iPhone is the best selling product. I don’t agree with the move, but that’s why iPad won’t “get better” at least to the point of what we all love about the mac. So with that, Apple and I are in a fundamental disagreement on how to navigate iPad. It’ll always have to be a “companion” device, and I accept that now. I know I can’t change it

So now we have coping videos that gaslight people into accepting what Apple wants for them. Face it I love Apple, I have most of their devices but I as a consumer do not steer the direction of the company, they dictate to me what and how to purchase. The Ipad will never be a full computer because they don’t want it to be (for profit). It’s a mobile device. It’s a great product for what it is. You either accept its a really nice complimentary device or you can go to Windows and get a Surface. But good luck if you are locked into content and services you’ve had with Apple. I decided to just get base products of Apple to reduce my spend and have a pretty nice set up of Iphone, Macbook, Ipad and watch which works together great. But Im also not going to make excuses for Apple, they limit their products and feed us small bits of upgrades every year to keep customers complacent. Can’t argue it hasn’t worked for their business model. People eat it up

Did you even watch the video??? I’m critical of iPadOS 🤣 I just understand its place now. That’s not gaslighting 🤦🏻♂️ take your frustrations out with Apple ffs
