Could a guy not install a taller bead on the front to compensate? (I think taller would make you aim lower...I think) Also a bit of red loc tite on those screws may help that loosening issue ..maybe? Thanks for doing this video as I am considering something like this.
@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment and questions. You COULD get another bead that’s a little taller but now you’d have to see which one is the correct size and still possibly have issues with that. Also to me, I don’t wanna HAVE to buy another aftermarket gun part just because one didn’t work correctly. (Just my opinion though) Also, definitely good advice with the red loctite! Thank you! Hey Sean, yes you can shoot slugs without changing anything out. All you have to do is make sure the shotgun can take 2-3/4 and 3 inch shells. Try confirming that your order was supposed to come with stock. If it was, contact the vendor to let them know you only received the grip and not the rest of the order. If you weren’t supposed to get the whole setup, consider returning it and try calling gun shops (Cabelas, Bass Pro shops, gun stores in your area) to see if they’d have any pistol grip complete setups for your make and model of shotgun.

@@lonzooutdoors Then again your shotgun is full size, mine is a youth model and the butt stock is just too short making cramming my thumb against my eye socket lol. I wanna get this issue solved because sometime this year my brother wants to buy a big off grid totally solar powered place in the PA mountains. My 20 gauge would be the main bear defense gun, not to mention theere are still a few cougars in the state. For sure we have some capable handguns but even a 20 gauge slug puts about any handgun caliber to shame when it comes to black bear
@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын

@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын
Hey Kenneth. From my knowledge, I’ve never seen or heard of a youth model in any gauge. Maybe another aftermarket stock or butt pads that extended the length of your stock will help. Also, try looking on mossberg’s page… it’s really easy to navigate - maybe you can find stock parts that will help you find something to your liking. Thanks for the comment, consider subscribing if you enjoy gun content. We got plenty of it on the channel and more to come! 🔥
@KennethRisner-fz9scАй бұрын
@@lonzooutdoors I just subbed. A youth model is basically standard action shotgun with a shortened butt stock and maybe a little shrter barrel to accomodate smaller statured shooters such as those in pre teens. a 12 gauge is a bit much for most smaller people which is why most youth model shotguns are either 20 or 410 gauge. I wanted a 12 like yours but really couldnt afford it when outta nowhwere my brother gives e his maveruck, which is a mossberg 20 gauge youth model for free. Cool thing is it has screw in chokes. Now me, being a big old dude, my thumb rests against my eye socket when aiming and it does have enough kick that it sometimes leaves welts under my eye lol. Thanks for the tip ill look at the site

Is Maverick 88 reliable for home defense and what are its disadvantages? and thank you
@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын
Disadvantages are close to none. The pros outweigh the cons by a lot. One of the disadvantages I can think of is the amount of shells it carries. Mine is 5+1. Buttt, you can fix that with using mini shells (you’d just have to buy an additional piece online)
@mustafaaltamimi5994Ай бұрын

@@mustafaaltamimi5994 thank you for your wishes. The national average for shots fired per defense situations is 3 so yes 5+1 is enough… but I mean that the only con I can see compared to, say even a small handgun would be that even smaller handguns carry about 8 rounds on the low end. Some even up to 15. You never know what or how many you’re gonna need.
