I am having the same exact problems with mine. I wish this video was out before I bought it. I’m just going to go back with the original stock or my pistol grip.

I honestly did go back to the original grip. As much as I like how it looks, it just gave me too many more things to worry about. Glad I could help, feel free to check out the rest of the channel and subscribe! 🔥

yes. thanks for this. i was gonna go because of the tactical look but wasnt sure how it will hold up. i definitely will be keeping my 88 stock and not switch to ATF.

Could a guy not install a taller bead on the front to compensate? (I think taller would make you aim lower...I think) Also a bit of red loc tite on those screws may help that loosening issue ..maybe? Thanks for doing this video as I am considering something like this.
@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment and questions. You COULD get another bead that’s a little taller but now you’d have to see which one is the correct size and still possibly have issues with that. Also to me, I don’t wanna HAVE to buy another aftermarket gun part just because one didn’t work correctly. (Just my opinion though) Also, definitely good advice with the red loctite! Thank you! I’m thinking of doing a round 2 video with loctite to see how many shells and slugs it can go through without coming loose! Consider subscribing if you enjoy the content 🔥 or like guns in general!

Just buy the Tacstar Adapter. It's pretty solid.

Thank you! I’ll definitely take a look at that! Hopefully this comment can be useful for someone who is wondering about that too!

I'm glad I ran into this one. saw your other vid about your gf getting this stock, and was consdering one for the 20 gauge maverick 88 youth model, but not now.
@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын
Honestly, the stock butt stock ain’t too bad, it’s all just for looks honestly. To me it provided no extra value so I don’t mind keeping it original 🤷🏻♂️
@KennethRisner-fz9scАй бұрын
@@lonzooutdoors Then again your shotgun is full size, mine is a youth model and the butt stock is just too short making cramming my thumb against my eye socket lol. I wanna get this issue solved because sometime this year my brother wants to buy a big off grid totally solar powered place in the PA mountains. My 20 gauge would be the main bear defense gun, not to mention theere are still a few cougars in the state. For sure we have some capable handguns but even a 20 gauge slug puts about any handgun caliber to shame when it comes to black bear
@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын
@@KennethRisner-fz9sc oh yeah the power difference is just completely different. Also not to mention the array of ammo you can carry is just so drastically different for a shotgun compared to a pistol in some states

Those stocks brand new should've come with a drop spacer that drops the stock enough to see the bead comfortably. You can contact ATI Outdoors customer service and order that part directly if for some reason you don't have it. Also your pistol grip screw coming lose is 100% you didn't tighten it enough. And if you did and it's still doing that, put some locktight on there and you'll be fine. And having just come back from your install video, you have the drop spacer and never installed it. It was clearly visible in your video. If you read the instructions on installing the stock that came with it, it would tell you how to install the drop spacer so you can see the bead sight more comfortably.

Thank you for commenting! As per the screws coming loose, I tightened it plenty off camera and multiple times at the range. Sending slugs down range puts a big amount of push on the screws and they end up loosening up over time. It’s just what it is. And as for buying lock tight- you, neither should I expect everyone to buy a little bottle of loctite or have one laying around. The purpose of the product is to work out of the box as intended and it doesn’t do the best. Yes loctite would definitely fix the problem tho 💯% (I’m not arguing, I’m just saying as someone who made the video, I have to expect that people don’t have that)
@burnyburnoutze2nd5 ай бұрын
@@lonzooutdoors I have the same stock, and mine has NEVER come lose from shooting just one slug. I also never used locktite because it wasn't neccesary in my case. That's why I had my doubts that you're tightening it enough. Did yours come with a washer? And if so, did you install said washer with the screw?
@lonzooutdoors5 ай бұрын
Now to address the drop spacer, in the instructions it clearly stated if you have a Mossberg you didn’t need a spacer. Also, one spacer was marked REM (Remington) and the other, WIN (Winchester). The third and smallest of all the spacers, didn’t fit flush on the gun. Not only that but when placing the spacer, there was this flat piece of plastic running across it that got in the way of the main screw which I’ve seen has led many people into breaking that little piece off thinking that you need to in order to clearly pass the screw through. I also had one guy comment about how when he ordered his, his came with a rubber grip but had the same packaging. Mine is hard plastic. Leading me to believe, that they don’t ship out the same product or same contents in every box. Maybe my third little spacer wasn’t the correct one because it wasn’t a good fit
@lonzooutdoors5 ай бұрын
No I completely understand. And yes I did install the washer.
@burnyburnoutze2nd5 ай бұрын
@@lonzooutdoors You obviously didn't read the manual enough; the mossberg doesn't need any of the ADAPTORS as the stock is designed for those without one, but the Remington and Winchesters need their respective adaptors, but the Spacer (the thin one) is MANDATORY for bead sight usage regardless of which gun you're using. And yes, you have to cut that piece of plastic off on the drop spacer in order to make the spacer fit, that's intentionally done to protect it during shipping. I had to do the same thing. And fitting flush? Dude PLEASE, it's a 70 dollar stock set on a 250 dollar shotgun, it's not going to be millimeter perfect. What were you expecting, the fit and finish of a 10k H&H double rifle? My advice is, install that skinny drop spacer (and trim that plastic bridge first), tighten your screw more than you think you do, and then come back. Trust me, you will have a much better experience.

where did you get your side saddle from?
@lonzooutdoors2 ай бұрын
I bought the side saddle from Cabelas. It was the last one they had in stock for $45. Every time I go back I never see it again so I’m not sure if that’s something they carry regularly.

@lonzooutdoorsАй бұрын
Try confirming that your order was supposed to come with stock. If it was, contact the vendor to let them know you only received the grip and not the rest of the order. If you weren’t supposed to get the whole setup, consider returning it and try calling gun shops (Cabelas, Bass Pro shops, gun stores in your area) to see if they’d have any pistol grip complete setups for your make and model of shotgun.

The tactical stock looks cool but the regular stock won't get SHAKEY after lengthy use especially when shooting slugs
@lonzooutdoors2 ай бұрын
Exactly!! The more moving parts, the more that can come loose or break after so much bashing
@sleazykilla360Ай бұрын
@OP. The aftermarket stock won't get loose either as long as you have basic firearms maintenance knowledge. It's called red loctite.
@sleazykilla360Ай бұрын
Aiming isnt an issue. Get a red dot installed. The screws coming loose is fixed with red loctite. I dont see any issue here besides user error.
