thanks very much Dena for your tips. Is it bad to say no to buyers, e.g. if someone liked your art and asked you to post your work in a certain online template for art collections, can you reject if you don't feel it is right for you.
@DenaTollefson9 күн бұрын
Hi- thank you for writing! It is absolutely okay for you to reject or not participate in anything art related (or even not art-related) that you feel is not a good fit for you. What is great is that as an artist, you get to make the rules on what you do and what you don't do. Take care 🥰

Hi just checking this out? I’m doing a painting from a photo I saw online….. it inspired me….. and I did my version of this picture…… is there a copyright problem with this?
@DenaTollefson14 күн бұрын
Hi- this is an excellent question. If the photo was from a site like Pexels.com or Pixabay.com where you can use the photo without worry of violating copyright, then you are okay to use it. Photos are considered works of art and are copyright protected unless the copyright owner (the photographer) gives you express use to use their photo. This includes photos in social media sites, photos in magazines, photos in newspapers, etc.

Thank you. I am learning so much, so quickly from your channel today. I must have listened to several videos today. You are so informative and easy to hear. I am just a self employed carpenter. I’ve been experimenting with making wall art that is giant, three dimensional mandalas made out of wood, based on sacred geometry and the Fibonacci sequence. They take hundreds of hours to build. I’m enjoying the process very much. I get some good feedback back, no buyers. But I get some real viceral hatred from artists. I’m not the thought police, so everyone will think and feel how they will. I have realized by listening to you that I have already learned quite a bit of the business end of art through the contracting world. There is quite a few things more I could learn here and I’m greatful that you have put in the work for us to find it. Thank you for all your doing and I wish great things for you.

Lovely video Dena licensing is something that I would really like to do. I haven’t done it yet I have a large following on social media TikTok. I’m a full-time artist I just do not know how or what companies to apply to I have a red bubble that has done absolutely nothing..so I would like to go with companies where do I actually find them if I google license company it’s a dead end any suggestions I wouldn’t mind finding a licensing manager but still can’t find one of them. Many thanks

I Gotta to tell you this,i was street drawing on a boiling hot summers afternoon in GLASTONBURY HIGH STREET, SOMERSET, I was thirsty and no money ,i was working on my 3ft' ,'3ft GANESHA, in oily pastels, they was melting in the sun,and was going down great,GANESHA is a hindu elephant god,Spiritual in the colourful way i drew it,i started early about 9-30 that morning, it was lateish afternoon, I was melting in the pavement, staring at the floor as i coloured my art in,Dehydrated and stinging eyes from sweat. A Pair of dirty sun tanned feet,(A lot of people don't where shoes in Glastonbury) A smell of patchouli and wildman sweat,blew around me ,I looked up followed the sweet smell,My eyes where sore and i squinted as i was seating on the pavement floor,A mop of dirty blond hair curled,And naturally wild,hid a strong jawline, I was trying to get to my feet as my legs had gone dead,I was numb from being on the pavement,He held out his hand to give me a balance to stand.Somthing was telling me this was different. IT WAS DIFFERENT---ROBERT PLANT --LEAD SINGER,--FROM LED ZEPPELIN WAS LOOKING ME STRAIGHT IN THE EYES!! Red sore ,split lips,from sun burn.i couldn't feel my legs,must of looked great!!? --ROBERT PLANT-- Loved the ganesha. I wanted him to have it,as a gift but he wouldn't hear of it !! Gave me £20 for the Ganesha piece ..my claim to fame!!!!
