Thank you for posting this video. After watching so many vidoes that didn't explain the details (and I couldn't get the door in properly) I came across this and it solved the problem! Nice!

The featured drain removal tool is awesome. The best way to start the tool is by placing it in the drain fixture at a slight angle instead of straight onto it. Also,with a metal tub,don't be afraid to seat the tool using sharp blows with a heavier hammer. I used a 4 ib hammer with an 18" handle. Way less playing around. Once it's in place,use a 1/2 inch drive beaker bar with a 2" extension and slowly turn in a counter clockwise direction. This will help you remove even the most stubborn,corroded drain fixtures. It's a best practice to remove the black rubber gasket from between the drain shoe and the underside of the tub and replace it with the suppied new one that comes with the new drain fixture. BTW,use plumbers putty on the underside of the drain flange instead of silicone as it lasts much longer.

I live in a rental and the button is worn out and when the water gets warm it makes a horrible squealing sound...very irritating, as you can imagine....I don't want to have the landlord over if I can help it, I would like to fix this on my own. Now that I know this can be just unscrewed and replaced I can easily do it myself and not involve the landlord at all for this repair.

Thanks for this thorough video. I took the oven door off for cleaning and got stuck putting it back on. The problem was I was trying to "unlock" the hinge while the door was still off and it absolutely wasn't budging. But when I put the door in the oven slots the locks slid right off the hinges no problem. Phew! Now I can make brownies - I'll save one for you.

thank you so much! i was trying to clean my oven and it didn’t really fall off it was kind of just hanging i was trying to clean it and it just broke. was trying to do a nice thing for my parents and then pop. my oven is slightly different it had like a second hinge thing mabob but i figured it out anyways. lifesaver!

My door doesn't seem to close tight when baking. I set 2 magnets at the top to pull it in but this still doesn't seem to help except when the oven is cool.
