Just for additional rigidity. Tbh, could possibly get away without it with these free range drivers but, I try and include some support in all builds.

I have a set of tibo plus 3 speakers that has a fault in the active speaker meaning it clicks when turned on and when playing has quiet patches. I was thinking of striping the active kit and making them a pair of passive speakers but would these units likely replace the kit in the active unit once the speaker wires were transfered and bring the speakers back to life?
@DIY-AUDIO13 күн бұрын
Possibly but I'd take your tibos apart and see if you can fix what's broken instead if I were you. Could be something as simple as poor soldering on something!!

Sexy looking driver. I always find it curious when people play recordings of a speaker, to demonstrate its sound. Its kind of like reviewing a meal and its flavor, solely based on someone else describing how it tastes. Because all you actually hear, is your speakers. And your speakers (and full audio chain), adds it's own color to the sound. Its frankly pretty funny how so many people don't realize this when watching speaker "demos".

How do these sound compared to a similar mass produced speaker from someone like Edifier? I'm curious if the time and materials are worth the effort. Second, are these good enough to sell at local markets as a small, local business or on Etsy. Asking for a friend. :)
@DIY-AUDIO15 күн бұрын
Most mass produced are usually 2 way drivers and likely only to be Bluetooth. Can't compare them but built correctly the drivers make great speakers and these stream music as well as have Bluetooth. Guess it depends what you want. Mass produced ie same as everyone else or something more personal that you have created with your own hands! Which you will get more pleasure from I can't say. Whether you could sell something similar on Etsy (quick look on there shows people do do it) and you can make these to whatever look you want!

Am I too late? Im just gonna ask if what is the Internal volume of the box, and if it's sealed or ported
Both these speakers have a qts of above .51 this means they should be in a sealed box, they will have a big peak at tune and the driver will lose control, but more than that it will affect the higher frequencies too. And! Those boxes are also way! Too big, so while I can say the one speaker sounds better in the wrong size and type of box than the other it hardly shows anything about them in any respects to what they actually sound like. Speakers shouldn't be compared unless they are measured and used correctly or miss information can become a thing IMHO if you don't measure with a mic , you can't tell what's going on

Hard to tell with the testing method: Appreciate the efforts but humans have such short tone memory. I do a lot of work and basically it needs to be in identical position, identical spl etc and hard switch every 2 secs, then 5 secs then 10 secs and repeat. This takes away all the variables. I find the Markaudio a bit lacking in the low mids but clarity in 1-5k far betters front to back...however I dont trust the equivalence of what Im hearing. Great job on the cabs etc
