Lynch is a filmmaker who I’ve only grown to appreciate more and more over time. At first I felt like he wasn’t really for me but the more I think about his work, the more I find myself connecting with it. Even something as weird as Eraserhead has been playing on my mind recently and I’ve grown to appreciate it more. But I absolutely loved watching Blue Velvet recently. It’s a truly fascinating film. David Lynch is one of my favourite film-makers and when I heard of his death I was heartbroken. No one like David Lynch was working in cinema in the mid-70s and no one will ever be like him, people can try but there was a certain kind of magic - for lack of a better word - that cannot be replaced or replicated. Yeah, I do see why you haven't heard of they Might Be Giants; I should've asked if you have heard of them before just jumping into the question straight. Weirdly enough though, the band actually has done a good amount of music for a lot of 2000s movies and TV shows, the one you probably have heard is the Other Father Song from Coraline. Also, 1989 is one of my favorite years of cinema too. Anyway, it's so nice to see all the unique questions you get and the subsequent answers from them, great video as well!

@alexdoesexist funny enough in terms of 1989 movies, I watched Field of Dreams last night, another iconic film of that year which I really liked. Honestly tempted to do full length videos on 1989 and 2014 respectively. Oh wow I forgot that they did that song in Coraline, that’s cool. As well though it’s okay to ask those questions, whether or not I’ve heard about them or not, it still introduces me to them after all. Glad you enjoyed the video overall (:

Knowing how fast you can speak sometimes, I blocked out all distractions and focused in on what you had to say. I enjoyed hearing your remarks. There is a lot of social commentary in the original "Planet of the Apes" related to events in the sixties. I went to see the movie because it was discussed in detail in my sociology class. None of the sequels have that. They just aren't on the same level. I liked the whole video.

With how much I had to cover in this video, it would be impossible to do without speed talking, but I’m glad you enjoyed it. Hindsight is 2020 as they say, and at the time I believed staying was the right choice. Ultimately it’s a choice I wouldn’t make now, but in life we all make choices that we may regret later on, and I have learned not necessarily academically, but I’ve learned more from that experience and it’s helped to shape more of my worldview. The negative experiences often shape us as strongly if not more so than the positive ones.

The new doctor, cries too often, dances too often, is sexual too often, doesn’t save people, kills death with death making the other dead to revive. Extremely disappointed. I’ve been watching since the 1960s and enjoyed Jodi as the doctor mostly. But there are no personal connections between the doctor and anyone besides Rogue, and the spoon lady. There is little relationship building between Ruby and the doctor. Ruby is like an NPC in a video game, only exists because you need a companion. Worst season ever!

Looking back, all my favorite episodes were the experimental ones, midnight, blink, love & monsters, grindlock, etc. But since Moffat I don't remember a single episode on that style, the best must be "the pilot" in series 10. Capaldi era was decent enough, but I hardly remember anything tbh. Also, it seems that in newer episodes everyone talks weird and really fast with witty remarks all the time, it's exhausting. Also the doctor itself doesn't have a lot of personality, 13th was a lame 10th and 15th is at its best, just super gay. Which is fine and funny, but quite ordinary and not the otherworldly eccentricity one expects from the doctor So idk how much of a fan I am if I cherrypick the episodes I like, but it's been quite a while without any of those.

Any new year's resolutions or goals for 2025? Are you now finished with what we call high school and attending classes full-time at a college or university? People in some US states are worried about mysterious drones flying over their heads. The government at first said people were imagining things. When that didn't work, they said the drones are operating in compliance with the law. Are there any such mystery drones flying over the UK? On Times Square, in NYC, they drop a glowing ball from a tall building at midnight. Here, in Prescott, Arizona, they will lower a cowboy boot from atop the Palace Saloon on Whiskey Row and shoot off fireworks. What are you guys in UK going to do on New Years Eve? I recently enjoyed entertaining guests from Germany. Their chief complaints were that everything was expensive (except for petrol), and it was too hot here (in October?). Do you think you'll ever visit the U.S.?

It's strange when the title character of an episode is easily the weakest part. I am very conflicted about the ending as it was done much better with Kylie in 2007, and also it seemed to come out of the blue. The concept of the time hotel is almost too good for just a Christmas special and I hope it comes up again. I'm glad they finally addressed Covid in universe.
