I admit that I haven’t actually seen most of the winners (not even Oppenheimer although I’m watching it this Friday) Although I will say that Henry Sugar and 20 Days in Mariupol were both 100% deserved in their respective categories. I was also so happy to see Christopher Nolan finally get an Oscar after his many years in the industry. He was long overdue for one

The Oscars (actually all these "look how awesome we are you scrubbers" award shows), are beyond redarted! I can't comment on their choices though as I only had one cinema experience this year and it was quite a good one - which could simply have been because of the actual cinema being very pleasant! The movie was.... Super Mario Bros. - and I enjoyed it greatly! So I guess that would have been my pick for bestest everything!

I love Across the Spider-Verse, but I think it was about time that the Oscars gave a 2D animated movie the award for best animated feature. Also, everything Miyazaki makes is pure gold, so I'm happy with that

Yeah that’s a good point. And Spirited Away was the last time a 2D animated movie got that award I believe. Really need to get back into the Ghibli movies that I haven’t seen yet.
