Haha not going to lie, watching you try to assemble the stove was horrifying 😂😂 I have several of those same twig stoves, and have even made a few of my own in a "hobo stove" style. There are hundreds of various weird names of that same stove. Lixada, Tomshoo, Canway, Stansport, Ohuhu, Yeto, GasOne, etc, but they all come from the same factory. One you get the hang of them, they're awesome. Can burn wood, wood pellets, charcoal, hexamine tablets (like you have there), gel fuel, even a Trangia alcohol burner. Glad you are on the mend! And spilling your water was the best part cuz I HATE that style mess cup because of that very reason. Either the handle will fold and you spill, or the weight of the handle makes it unstable on certain stoves, and you spill 😂
@doinsngoins23 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the info Chad. This is my first twigsto I mean. I've seen others that are like flat and you actually assemble them with all kinds of slots. And they're kind of a square type deal with this one. Was definitely a bar puzzle. It won't be too bad next time. But boy, it has a lot of parts. How about those asbit pellets? Are they supposed to last longer than that? I know that you saw there that they're getting sweaty.
@doinsngoins23 сағат бұрын
Do those pellets go bad
@chado_outdoors17 сағат бұрын
@@doinsngoins no, you got about max time, maybe a little short, but those smaller tablets usually go anywhere from 6-9 minutes. A big issue you had was that blade/plate working like a heat sync stealing the heat away from the cup, this having to heat before giving the cup the heat. I've seen a few tablets go bad, but they usually crumble from dryness when bad.

Nooooo! That's a "hobo pie maker", not some skillet! You're supposed to make pies in that beauty. Way back in the day, something like 40 odd years back, my scout troop introduced me to those babies and I've got some fond memories! Put a slice of buttered bread in there, butter side to the iron, and then add a scoop or two of canned apple pie filling. Put another slice of buttered bread on top of that and close the clamshell. The heat will toast the bread like a grilled cheese sandwich, and you just have to flip it over a few times to make sure it cooks evenly. Makes delicious pie, hence the name. Cherry filling, Peach filling, Apple filing, Ham-n-Cheese, the sky's the limit, honestly. Some good sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella, and you're eating high on the hog!

@doinsngoinsКүн бұрын
Okay, it's a trick question when you are using this baby. In close quarters, you want to put it on the absolute lowest. Possible setting on that setting. It'll last all week. I am out here in the shop, the entire weekend from Friday night to Sunday night. So it runs almost the whole time and then periodically throughout the week. Maybe for an hour to time. Maybe 3 times a week. Now if you open this thing up wide open and you set it out in the middle of the shop, I have no idea but I i would bet you that you could burn this thing up in two days
