As I'm weaving, all goes well until I come to a letter with 4 pics ... at that point the background color and the color of the letter are reversed for the next horizontal bar? ... I'm not sure how to deal with this?

Trying to figure out how to get just a plain start to put in my own colors - can’t follow the French videos - and somehow seemed to miss it first time watching your video. Got how to add color to pallet but not how to insert into design and how to get blank canvas. Looks like a great tool but totally frustrating. (I got your book as download so I could click on the links etc.)
@ASpinnerWeaverАй бұрын
The following instructions are for using the Editor on a computer, not a small device. In the left-hand column, scroll down to the section labeled TOOLS. Underneath that it says "Base pattern". Under that it says "Blank the warp". If you click on that, it will turn all of the cells to one color, whichever color is the farthest to the left on your current "Loom palette". Then you can start filling in your pattern by clicking first on the color you want to use from your Loom palette, and then clicking into the cells that you want to change to that color.

@@ASpinnerWeaver Thanks. Computer tucked away and hard to get to when wanting to “play: (maybe a laptop for Xmas) so was working on my IPad Pro. (And learned I’m getting a box loom for Christmas so more bands to design.). Thank you again. Love your book and your help.

Could not see you fingers tying on knots. Then you take one loose and Tye on…to what?
@ASpinnerWeaver2 ай бұрын
Each color yarn is tied to itself. In the beginning, the warp is tied in a quick-release knot to the front bar of the loom. When that warp color is no longer needed, it is cut off the spool or cone or skein. Then the knot at the front bar is untied, and the beginning and end of that color are tied together.

I'm sorry if this seems confusing to you. The video isn't really about color or what's in the border area. It is meant to demonstrate the process of picking and dropping threads to create the letters.

Thanks a lot for making this video ❤ I had given up on trying to comprehend how to use the pattern generator so this comes as a true game-changer! 😊 Another thing I’ve been looking for but can’t seem to find, is an explanation to how you join the two ends of a handwoven band more or less invisibly to each other, e.g. for decorative use around a naalbound hat or a skirt’s hem. You don’t happen to have any tips, do you?
@ASpinnerWeaver6 ай бұрын
There are more videos made by Jeff who created the pattern generator. They can be found on his KZbin channel here: www.youtube.com/@raktres/videos As for joining the two ends of the band, I can't help you with that. I've never done it myself. Good luck!

Hi! I have been playing around with this but can't seem to find how to put the threading draft that you show at the side of the pattern.
@ASpinnerWeaver6 ай бұрын
Hi. I don't understand your question. The threading draft is show in 2 forms. The first is the two rows at the top of the pattern which are separated by a little space from the "drawdown" or preview of the pattern below. Then, the second threading draft uses a different format of blocks with white space in between. It is alongside the main pattern/drawdown. It may be a little easier to read. You have to give the page a 1/4 turn to read it.

Does it matter, when changing colours, to pick up or drop off first?
@ASpinnerWeaver11 ай бұрын
It doesn't as long as you get them both done in the same row, the order is not important. I think of it as an exchange of two threads, picking and dropping in pairs. Pick one and drop the one next to it. Does that make sense?

@@ASpinnerWeaver hi Annie, thanks for the vídeo! I know how to warp in a inkle loom. My question is how to warp to get this kind of "design( letters)" ...do You begin alternately warping, one turquoise, one Brown till finish? I make this question because when You want to make any( other) design no letters for example, this will depend on how many threads of one colour You put together when You warp... the way we put the threads turns different results! to make letters may be is like in the Mapuche loom, we called "peinecillo" l need to warp one colour, then other different colour alternately till finish...to get 15 of each colour ....and 4 of dark colour at each side.... when You warp in this way You form horizontal bars when you make through heddles or Open shed... these horizontal bars we called "peinecillo" in the Mapuche art. Will it be the way of warping to make letters, Annie?
