Stores five cigars, sometimes six on the bottom.. top tray I keep it lighter a cutter and a bottle opener.. the sleeve in the back I throw in a Boveda humidor pack.. works great for a car humidor to always have some sticks or for taking them somewhere that you’re not gonna put this in a bag

Good chat. I'm always on a budget so I bought a matched pair of Behringer C-2 mics for drum overheads but found they work great for video work. I even use two of them to get a stereo capture of dialogue and include some of the "liveness" of the room so that the viewer can feel present. I still do AI noise reduction but I use it judiciously. these C-2 microphones are CHEAP and they sound great. Call it a "hack" if you will, but you don't have to break the bank to get pristine audio from these guys. It's the law of diminishing returns when it comes to spending money on mics. Your audience if not going to notice the difference by the time audio processing in post is factored in. I think it's pointless spending hundreds of dollars on a video mic unless it's for some niche function.

100%. The software is getting so good for cleaning up audio. I lean on FCP's Voice Isolation for almost everything now and it's REALLY reliable. On my little video mics and my more expensive mics, the audio is pretty consistent.

LinkedIn could only work for some professionals, like those in Tech/IT. Some tech companies would need you to apply for jobs by sharing your LinkedIn profile with them first. Tech recruiters also won't take you seriously if you lack a LinkedIn profile. The only thing we can agree on is; human nature is complicated and annoying on any social media platform, be it on LinkedIn, KZbin, TikTok, X, Facebook or Instagram. You can't miss lunatics who can't keep their mouth shut while promoting narcissistic behaviours. But the good thing is, you always have the freedom to choose who you want to listen to, or the platforms you wanna sell your skills or work. If you hate the corporate culture, don't be on LinkedIn, to say the least.

This was very well put. I recently had a cool conversation with a child psychologist who was talking about the benefits of social media, and it's so easy to dismiss social media as poisonous, but there are nuanced elements that are incredibly beneficial. It's about curating your networks and auditing the time you spend on the platforms. Different platforms for different people! Thanks for the lovely comment.

Social media is really, really not a mentally healthy thing. It reminds me of the sounds of doom that the school of fish gives off when the fish are trapped in the net on finding Nemo. If you go watch that video again, and listen to that sound, it is the sound of doom. Social media does this to us. Eventually, it consumes you. It will never be satisfied. Happy for you!!!

I've never used the h6essential, BUT test it out! I think you'll be protected by the 32-float. There's no way to set your levels wrong on the other zoom recorders with 32-float. So try it. Spike your levels, check your file. You should be in good shape, but test it before it matters! I'm sitting here testing four F2's for a gig this weekend. I trust my F2 with my life, but you gotta test before it matters!

The only times I have ever found it somewhat useful is when I find peoples lost wallets etc., and I am trying to look up how to contact them. Did anyone face the same please reply I am very worried it's only 1 month I brought the camera month.

That sounds like a manufacturer problem. You should have fog getting trapped in the camera. I'd see about contacting Nikon and seeing if they have any advice. You shouldn't have to hesitate to take your camera outside! So many pro's trust Nikon in extreme environments. If your issue were common, they wouldn't have that reputation. Give them a shout.

Let's be clear, this badge is not official. No media badge is. Its sole purpose is to help get you where you need to be safely. It will convince some gate agents to allow you to pre board so you can make sure your gear gets a space (because often our bags can't be checked due to batteries). So it's just to make you look a little more official during the process. It mostly just feels cool. :-)

Being stills-oriented (primarily MFT format), I rarely need a tripod, but for those rare occasions (certain macros and super-long exposures), I got the Befree GT XPRO Carbon and it's been great. It's quick and easy to deploy/stow, its 496 ball head is fuss-free to use (I don't do much panning video, but I don't think it would be a problem), and it fits inside my big LowePro (ProTactic AW450 II) pack. The only annoying aspect is that it's not Arca-compatible, so I had to get PD's Capture Dual Plate. That 3-Way fluid head looks a lot bulkier and it doesn't look like that 'pod has the XPRO's 90° swivel center column (a huge plus), so I guess I'll be sticking with what I have, but thanks for the review. Agreed on vertical video--amateur hour! I hate those blurry side bars plus I feel like I'm looking through a crack in a door! Our eyes are side-by-side, not vertically stacked, and using a phone as a primary viewing device is silly!
@ShaunHautly
@ShaunHautly 21 күн бұрын
Thanks for the happy comment! I use this alongside a ball head. This is slightly bulkier than the ball head, but I hardly notice. It's nice to feather in slight framing nuances which my ball head struggles to do. Especially with a 70-200 or my 200-600. I'll check out the XPRO, though!

It's so tricky! Because these devices and platforms have also helped so many people connect, find voices, friends, hobbies, resources, jobs, entertainment, inspiration, and community. BUT they also have set up us to have short attention spans and be vulnerable to what may be shown to us to influence our thoughts. So it's NOT all good or all bad! We just need to figure out how to adjust and evolve these platforms, devices, and OURSELVES to serve us in the most helpful and healthy way possible. That's what I think, anyway.

So you use the F6 USB type C connector to power a USB mic but are you also able to record into the F6 with a USB mic like a Blue Yeti? I know you can turn the phantom power off to a specific line and use something like a RODE VXLR adapter as a pass-through but was curious if you did this differently?
@ShaunHautly
@ShaunHautly 24 күн бұрын
I haven't messed with those situations. There's not a place to plug a USB microphone into this, so unless the Yeti has a different audio out, it won't work. And I don't use any mics that have onboard power. I only use the phantom from the F6, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but in theory yes. You could save battery by using batteries in your mics instead. Good luck!

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but I just learned something I had not heard before! Yep, LinkedIn is garbage. I've had an account there for about 5 years and never once got an interview no matter how many applications I filled out despite almost three decades of IT support at the same company. Most of the time the job link just takes you to the company site which you have to register with and then fill in the exact same info that is on my resume. Worse still, the people who did reach out to me were almost 99% Indian recruiters informing me about a job I was clearly not qualified for (coding, cybersecurity, etc.). Sometimes I would get solicited by two different recruiters for the same Job. Why are they all Indian? Let's not even started on the job listings. These companies want you to be able to do everything in the IT field while also being on call all the time and having to be available weekends and holidays. One could spend an entire day searching and not find a single enticing job post. Next are the inane posts about who did what in your network, etc. I don't care. I made my LI profile private and it has remained dormant. I'm thinking of deleting it. LI is useless.

Also, isn't it good to buy an ideal lens or other gear with a purpose of practice? Because renting gears for practice every time is a costly thing to do. What's your thought on this?
@ShaunHautly
@ShaunHautly Ай бұрын
It depends on what you're doing. If you're shooting the same things over and over (weddings, music videos, etc.) then sure! Buy something, test it, return it if it doesn't work. Renting is always cheaper than buying though. So with some gear it makes sense to rent it for a week and decide whether you like it or not. I've sold a few lenses (that Lawoa Probe, for one) that I bought and realized it didn't really fit my workflow. If you do varied styles of production, your gear is going to change so much that you might not be able to buy all the gear you'd need. Lastly, if you've got the money, go for it!

That's a tough call! a good 24-70 has a usable 50 right in the middle of it, so I wouldn't recommend getting a 24-70 AND a 50, but if 24-70 is out of reach, a 35 is classic and you can always crop in a bit to make it tighter.
