Very true words. I'm sorry for your loss. 'It's going okay' has gotten me through lots of those not-sure-how-much-to-divulge conversations. It's usually not a lie, and it lets the conversation move along. You can always open up more later if appropriate, or send them a message afterwards

I'm sorry for your loss Shaun. I have been experiencing, almost, the same exact thing. I just lost someone very close to me and it isn't easy. Thank you for this and helping me understand what I am going through by sharing. Have a great Holiday and Happy New year!
