Love your knowledge of the medieval age and was wondering if you are going to do one on the tinker or the Smior.

Good work. You can buy a belt end punch in a gothic or church window shape to cut the scales with. Cut a strip of leather 12 inches by, say, 3 inches, and use the belt end punch along one long edge to create a scalloped or scale edge. These long strips are easier to attach than individual scales.

"just going here or there." I'm going to start wearing my stuff everywhere. Walmart, Aldi's, thrift store, visiting family etc. Let's make this attire normal!!

As a man I have discovered that when looking for a "future tabard" I have to search the women's plus size dresses in thrift stores. Excellent video with a lot of good tips! Thank you.

Is the ceiling low there? It doesn't look like the ceiling's low there, but I get the impression that you're bending down to keep from bumping your head on something out of screen :P

Before I even read anything I saw the shield in the back and thought "WAIT THAT'S SEA LORDS!!" going to my first event in 2025. Have some friends who go from my little local LARP group and my boyfriend went this year for the first time. I'm going as Nahida a student for Oxfrith Academy! Super excited to go to my first big event!

This is some invaluable advice, that many should take notes from.. probably myself included. It's too normal now to rush through something and onto the next, probably because we feel a need to keep up with a world that never really stops. But thats exactly why we need to apreciate the time with nature we can get. And create things that mean something to us even if they're "worthless" to the rest of the world. And to pause in the special moments we get to feel most at comfort being ourselves... i feel great after this video 😊. Thank you for caring to share this. 😁👌

Given the expenses involved in candles, they were largely used only by the clergy and gentry on a daily basis. For much of the period, the common folks would have made use of rushlights. In fact, in the British isles, rushlights were still in regular use in rural areas well into the 19th Century CE and had something of a revival during the rationing of WWII. The dried pith of a rush plant, usually about 12”, is soaked in fat or grease, and dried. When lit, they’d burn and produce a nice bright light for 10 to 15 minutes or so. Although with practice, apparently it was possible to make rushlights that burned much longer. I love the aesthetic of a nice shelf of candles as much as the next historical and fantasy obsessive geek… But I think rushlights deserve more love!

It is a very nice indeed a fine addition to your kit! I am curious though have you discovered any decent sources for riveted aluminum maille? I am trying to created some chain voiders for my gambeson and while riveted steel is relatively common the combination of weight and rusting vexes me mightily. Any assistance you might offer would be greatly appreciated. :)

I have been interested in this for sometime, I’m not anywhere near being able to right now, but seeing this video and hearing how her experience was is awesome to see. I go Geocaching and a lot of people don’t understand it and sometimes folks who don’t understand get scared. So I enjoy explaining it and showing how adventurous it is. This video helps so thank you. I’d love to be someone who works on leather armor, but that’s as far as I have come with a character. Thanks all!
