I used a bean bag for the bottom of my chicken to make it stood up.

One done, working on four crocheted and one knit chickens. Also, crocheting them granny shawls to wear. And my last added step is to crochet them a heart to place inside the belly.

Thank goodness for this tutorial. I was needing this support chicken trying to work out the written pattern😂 sorry ladies. I would class myself as an intermediate crocheter and found from the neck up impossible to work out for me. I have knitting friends that had no issues trying to help me. I'm working along with you now.

I am stumped. What am i doing wrong? My second feather comes out wit a square end...???

This is pretty much an impossible task. The paid written pattern is full of mistakes and you jump and cut out rows here on the video so it's a futile exercise really which is a shame.
@Septcrafter4 күн бұрын
First, a suggestion: maybe thank them for providing a video. Second, maybe go to a local yarn store, not Michaels or Joann’s and see if one of them can help explain the pattern. Third: if this pattern is too difficult, maybe try something else until your skill base is stronger. This is not a futile video, they aren’t showing every row because some are repetitive. They are showing the rows and sections that are difficult. And last, maybe show a little gratitude. They didn’t have to do a video in the first place. Hope you have a wonderful day.

If you’re stuck at the start of section three, watch where she turns, on the chain 14 as you’re coming back you may need to turn so you are lined up properly for the 25 stitches back.

I just finished my 1st chicken! Thank you for designing this pattern. You are so talented. This video is a wonderful support to the written pattern. My grandson is asking me to knit him a Mallard Drake duck. 🦆 Do you have a pattern or adaptation in this pattern that I could make to accommodate his request?

OK, I'm hooked.... I have a plan for 4 of them by Xmas. Thank you for the explanation; I know short rows from socks, but it's always good to refresh skills and learn new ones. Quick question: Was the pattern revised? Because on the head, there are 2 sections where you knit across while you're doing the "heel turn," and all I did was follow the directions on the pattern.
