Yes and no. I made a DCP six years ago- at the time it cost more than $1000. No one's ever requested it. and now DVDs and Blu Rays, any physical media, are starting to seem obsolete. I have 35mmprints stored in various archives.

I've been showing this era of Sesame Street to my daughter (she is 8 months, I am 40) - it's what I was raised on, such enriching and uplifting content. Not too saturated or hyperactive, like the rest. This particular animation and song... I'd completely forgotten until we came across it, then every bit of it came rushing back in to my mind. When I was very little though, I did't underatand the resolution into "above below," but I still remember having my tiny perceptual mind expanded by this art!

Sally, this has got to be one of the best animations you've made, alongside the Abstract Count animations, as soon as I came across this animation from 1988 I thought it looked mildly interesting, and the second I began listening to it, I was SO emotional! This sounds like something I'd play over and over again as a 5 year old, I am an individual the younger generation, after all. Even though I haven't heard nor seen this animation anywhere, I unfortunately don't remember it, either, I can already imagine child me smiling big and wide at this song! The C major key and colorful, complex visuals match that of a children's show's intro that I would've watched that stretched from 1988 to 2017. Thanks, Sally, you truly are a legend in animation!

Saw this when I was 8 years old and boy did it scare me. That said, I really love how you captured that old surreal and often times nightmarish Fleischer Bros vibe in this and how wonderfully fun your other animations are. Thanks for sharing it! I'm surprised I don't see see the opening to "Lover Boy" or "Mad House" on your site also!

Sally, I just wanted to say how much your animations mean to me. I grew up with them as a kid and had admittedly forgotten about most of them for the longest time. I vaguely remembered seeing something about a crocodile skydiving though I wasn't sure if it came from Sesame Street or Between the Lions. All my life, I had wondered what that beautiful piece of animation from my childhood was. Until recently, when I was suffering from serious depression, and I stumbled upon Above It All here on KZbin. Just seeing the thumbnail, a wave of nostalgia went over me. That was it! I finally found this beautiful, almost dream-like cartoon. I've since rewatched your entire Sesame Street portfolio. I later showed this clip to my mom, and we shared a heartfelt moment remembering it. It first aired long after she had outgrown Sesame Street, but she remembered it from my childhood. Your artwork is absolutely beautiful, and you helped me through some dark times. You helped me get off my island of emotions, that's for sure. Did you catch the reference? Lol.
@sallycruikshankАй бұрын
bobafett2205 thank you for this very moving comment. I can imagine how it must have felt when you found the video you wondered about, and there it was. I'm glad you are no longer in deep depression, people use the term casually but it's a very serious condition. I really appreciate what you wrote. Stay well, stay inspired. Sally

this animation is genuinely one of my favorite things ever, and not just because of dannys song---i love how colorful and ‘surreal’ this is, and its so fun to watch !! I occasionally come back here and rewatch it a few times a day, depending on if i remember that it exists,, which this isnt hard to forget considering I've watched it so many times now it baffles me how fluid everything is and how it works so well together. i also love to doodle dannys character when im bored at school<3 the designs are so fun and i genuinely cannot get enough , this is great :)
