It's a nice kite. Needs care assembling but seems to be very strong in structure.

I like the steep angle at which it flies and that’s great for lifting and flying matching coloured matching tubes, swirls or streamers. I believe Joel has recently produced more of these kites in different livery.

Sport kites mostly but any thin line if it helps - especially when tying a larks head but it will add to the weight!

We like it too!! Stronger and flies much better than the cheap Chinese versions found online.

The wind window is the area of the sky where the kite is able to fly. If you think of half of a dome existing downwind of the flier, this will give you the basic idea. The distance to the dome's wall (back of the window) from the flier is determined by the length of the kite lines. When the kite flies to the top or sides of 'The Window" it is pionting towards where the the wind is coming from, thus less sail is facing the wind, producing less pull. Ergo the nearer to the centre of the window, the stronger the pull. I hope this helps? 😀

Thanks for your kind words about our video. It's good to know that our goals of being helpful to both beginners and intermediate fliers are appreciated. I think the claim about five year olds is probably that children of that age (as well as adults) are able to fly them. What we like like is that it teaches youngsters and newbies to kites that it's fine to stand still and pay out the line when launching. Although kids still like to run with the kite behind them - and that teaches them that it's better to run in to the wind. I agree entirely about the assembly aspect for persons of any level but it's an integral part of the design. This is why we felt the need to add the instructional part at the end of the video. It’s a nice kite. It shouldn’t do that. The reason will most likely be the bridle has slipped out of position or the tow point is too far forward or back. You will need to experiment a little before returning it to where you bought it.

Thanks for commenting and we are glad you like the kite. I don't mean to be facetious Cynthia but this kite is for serious and experienced flyers only! You'll need a lifter kite, 1000lb breaking strain line and a really good anchor. An experienced flyer would also know that you would be looking at four figures to do all that including the kite.

Everyone seems to be using Manta Rays as lifters these days. I wouldn’t use the KAP for lifting those. Out of our collection, I would probably use either a Trilobite or a power sled. If you have a 3 metre HQ power sled then try that - they are a lot more powerful than given credit for and fairly stable too. Lastly, but not lesser, then a PL pilot will certainly do the job!

@@CloseEncounters Thanks for the insight. Although I'd not rule out the Manta, it is certainly a more involved process to get it in the air. Too, I know the Trilobites are a strong pulling kite and thank you for the suggestion. My largest sled is a 36 and it is a workhorse kite. Still undecided, I am still going to chase this KAP idea, if for nothing else, the fun of the hunt. Stay well and give the king my regards :)

Thank you for this feedback Robert! We have been producing the Delta Hawk almost unchanged for over 25 years. However, there are still small improvements in detail. So the newer models have a pocket for the standoff with security, so that the standoff can actually no longer be lost. This can also be seen in the opening image in the video. Regarding the supply of spare parts, I can only note that we usually send them within 24 hours. It may be that there are delays if the order for a spare part is received on Friday afternoon or at the weekend. We certainly cannot be held responsible for delays in delivery. Our material specifications for the standoff say wrapped fiberglass with a diameter of 2.1 mm. Please let us know if this is not the case for your Delta Hawk. Thank you for your comments. Here is a reply I gave to others on this channel further down ...You can buy rip stop nylon from good kite shops or chandlers/sailmakers. It is usually 1½ metres wide. you then decide how long you want each section. We prefer ribbon (flat) tails as opposed to tubes because they are lighter. We use pinking shears to cut each strip - they won't last as long as hemming each tail before fraying but much longer than straight cutting and we have so many that we circulate ..... The next question is length? If you are only using 100ft (30metre) lines then 70 ft max - especially more so if you are not using a full size, team kite. Be aware that the tails come out a long way down the field behind the kites and you should be wary of other people and careful not to overfly roads. NEVER fly upwind of electrical power lines. We aim to have our tails about 8cm wide to give good visibility and keep down the weight. Do not connect tails to the bottom of the kite because the drag will alter how the kite flies. Instead, make a loop around where the spine and bottom spreaders cross at the T piece, hang it out the back and connect you tail there. Sorry but we Don’t sell kites or accessories. Please check out your local kite retailer.

I am sorry to hear that Russ. If you lived near me I could definitely fix that problem to give you hours of fun with kites. There could be a problem with the kite but one of the most common problems is that the flying lines are not the same length. Lines on hoops are not a good idea. If you already have straps, stake them to the ground, let them all the way out and make sure they are of equal length. @@KenSerpico5450 Don't try to fly with short lines. It is mush easier to fly with lines of about 30 metres (100ft) - 25 metres minimum. 😀 The next most important thing is to keep your hands close together - do NOT fly with outstretched arms - even I find that difficult to keep a kite in the air. Once the kite is airborne you only need very small movements. Aim to keep the kite as high as possible. Tellme, what type of kite is it you have?

​​@@CloseEncounters I have great news. I called the kite store owner where I bought my kite, which is an Alpha Plus that came with a Dyneema 150 lbs/82 ft line. I told the store owner the problems l was having launching the kite. He said, "let's see what's happening and I'll give you a free lesson". He immediately noticed one of the bridles was off center and fixed it. After one hour of stern training, he had me performing circles and low ground passes. Like you said, he said, "don't over correct, you're lowering your hands way too low and raising over hands over your shoulders. It only takes minor adjustments in front of you, near the neutral position". Thanks for your follow-up.
