Whats sad and ironic is that lex will never remember himself killing his father or clark's secret cause of his baby sister tessa removing his memories with the cream she designed to erase memories

“I was raised in your shadow and now you’re gonna die in mine. No one will even remember your name” One of Lex Luthor’s greatest lines. This moment was so shocking and a massive turning point in the show. It’s funny how Lionel spent so much of his time lying to and hurting the people around him especially Lex and when he to expose Lex everyone turned him away, except Lana because of Brainiac, and it surprised him, that’s where lying gets you. So the last person he went to was Lex to confront him himself and his own son decided to murder him which was the last thing I saw coming but really it was only a matter of time. The shot of Lionel falling in Lex’s eye and then fading away was dark and absolutely brilliant. This was the point where Alexander died and Lex Luthor was born, this is the day and origin of Superman’s greatest enemy.

Lex in black, Clark in red and blue. This wasn’t Clark vs Lex. This was Superman vs Luthor. It feels straight out of a Superman comic.

With all the comedic roles I’d seen Michael in before, no one could have anticipated how brilliantly he’d play Lex Luthor

Man i miss this show! I love how lex reacts to "I have proof" he doesn't even bother trying to hide or deny at that point because he knows Clark wouldn't just lie like that or try to get a reaction out of him

“To discuss one of your latest project M.Gabriel is at the center of it” The way Lionel reveals and conceal things at the same time is amazing, the Luthors dialogues were gems in this show
@trevorgerardfrederick28 күн бұрын
Looking back at this.. Lex delivered disrespect at an astronomical level here. When Lionel killed his parents , he hired his buddy to do the dirty work. He didn't dare to do it with his own bare hands or look at them in the eye when he did it. Lionel murdering the Luthors was an act of greed. Lex, on the other hand.. had no issue committing the act himself. He walked right into Lionel's tower, took the elevator up to his office, and pushed his abusive father out a freaking window. And on top of that, promised Lionel that no one would remember his name. For Lex, murdering Lionel was PERSONAL. They did a great job with "Descent." Lex accepted his destiny right here.

Actually, all he would have to do is call the cops and have him arrested for breaking and entering, and trespassing.🤷🏻♀️ "What happened to you?"oh I don't know… Decades of systematic trauma and abuse from a distant and manipulative father, for some reason Clark seems to think is a good guy.😂

1:12 “Oh, which son is that?” Lex asks. Love it. By this season, you would have thought Clark was adopted by the Luthers. Lionel was showing Clark just as much attention, if not more, to him than Lex. We even got to see he had a secret attraction for Martha--like son, like father. Lionel wanted Martha, Lex wanted Lana.

Eh, I’d say that they turned Jon Cryer’s lex Luthor into supergirl’s nemesis rather than superman. But despite the flaws I’d say cryer did a decent job.

The writers were obviously dying to make this episode and film this scene and yet….Michael Rosenbaum’s Lex wasn’t at this stage yet- and might never have got there. A brilliant episode in a brilliant show with too many brilliant scenes and brilliant episodes to list!

"Well, it's not quite a skeleton yet. More like a freshly laid corpse." The disrespect for both Jonathan and Lionel in one zesty reply. I could argue that Lex took over the title of Magnificent Bastard from Lionel right there.
