Hey Chris. This might be a tricky question to answer but I'd love to be able to message back and forth about it if necessary. I'm very interested in visiting a chiropractic neurologist or functional neurologist or something to try and fix my debilitating gut condition and fatigue. Is there something specific that caused you to travel to Michigan to The Keiser Clinic - or would I be able to do something in the UK (I'm UK based)? Like I say, I can message back and forth if it's easier to talk that way. Many thanks, Flynn

You are, of course, right. Drinking pure water is definately not good! It dissoles any possible phlegm present and makes it worse. Cotton mouth galore! The salty lemon water sounds good, and someone even suggested eating some peanuts to keep the mouth hydrated for 72 hours. Thank you!

Do u think the kidneys have something to do with this, ever since bowle issues, I have kidney issues. I can't have alot of potassium or salt. Kidneys circulate the blood I think. And put pressure on the heart. The kidneys filter sodium and controls blood pressure.... 🤔 🙏♥️ this is extremely complex. I was thinking too blood loss or not absorbing iron. The nutrients not being absorbed burdens kidneys. Idk but my faith in God shall be bigger than sickness. And yes eliminate the toxic processed food. You should be a doctor sir

Thank you for all the information. I wish I knew all of this 40 years ago. I was 24 years old and had all kinds of problems, like bad relationships, no job stress ever day ,junk foods.and got UC . All I can say is clean your mind from the past, watch what you're diet , NO surgery stuff, alcohol, fast food, greasy and spices foods, avoid surgery no matter what, eat meat as much as you can but Don't over eat, exercise, especially rid bike if you can it makes your digestive system more active. Tell your doctor to give you sleeping pills like Diazapam if you don't sleep well. I wish all a happy and healthy life. God bless 🙌 🙌

I think those things are definitely important, the way I see it though, is, are those things enough to get somebody out of a debilitating chronically ill state? And often the answer's no, because the underlying issue is actually outside of the person's conscious awareness/control, which is why a thorough examination to identify the location of the dysfunction is often necessary

Thanks for watching I really appreciate that! I went through a number of thorough examinations to identify what the weaknesses were in my own case, for me to then be given very specifically targeted exercises. Unfortunately everyone won't get the same benefit from performing the same exercises because their bodies will be functioning differently - that's why the examination is so so important and this is something that I discuss in a lot more detail in the course. However, the 3 key sensory pathways/systems that are pivotal when it comes to chronic persistence of autonomic and autoimmune symptoms are: The visual system, the vestibular system and the proprioceptive system. Deficiencies/dysfunctional activity in any of these systems causes the brain to struggle to interpret variables of it's surrounding environment on an ongoing basis, which then in turn can lead to issues with fuel/blood flow delivery to the brain, hyper/hypo-activity within certain regions of the brain and that can ultimately translate to altered activity of organs throughout the body. Once the weak pathway is identified, then training it back up isn't that far off of training a certain muscle at the gym, perform the exercises with good form, consistency and then gradually make it more complex to teach your brain how to handle a higher load, so that it can withstand the stressors of daily life without crashing and becoming symptomatic - hopefully some of my upcoming videos will help out a little more!

@ChrisGascoigne1

Sorry to hear that Anna. Sometimes stiff muscles can come about as compensations for deficits elsewhere in the body, and if it's related to some of the inbuilt sensory pathways to the brain that I'm discussing, then it's no surprise why physical therapy is too much for your body to handle. I experienced a similar thing, I had to bring these other systems under control first before engaging in physical activity

All you're videos are useless. Their is no such thing as resetting your nervous system lol. If you have pots cfs long covid you have DAMAGE to your nerves. "Nervous system" nerves. They are damaged,, no amount of reset will make the nerves grow back because it is not the cause of the problem. Their is no amount of programs that will regenerate the small autonomic nerve fibers causing pots for example. You're advice is absolutely useless

When I'm sitting quietly at home, or during sleep, I get uncomfortably hot and sweaty. I've taken my temperature and it is 1-2 degrees higher! Another thought, if my blood is lacking carbon dioxide, would breathing into a bag ( usually about 30 breaths) help? (Like when youre hyperventilating). Thanks for your sharing research.
@ChrisGascoigne1
@ChrisGascoigne1 Ай бұрын
That could possibly be an issue with your ANS regulating the activity of your hypothalamus, which in turn is controlling your internal body temperature Kate - if you have excess sweating then that might suggest you actually have higher levels of carbon dioxide, which is triggering excessive vasodilation/opening up of your blood vessels - which is opposite to the phenomenon that I experienced.

Hi Joey, I was having lots of issues digesting all foods back then, now I eat pretty much any food. The thing that I focused on was getting the digestive system itself working better, with this functional neurology approach, so that appropriate blood flow, peristalsis, pH levels etc.. were all restored. You might be having issues digesting certain types of meat because there's abnormalities with some of the above factors - in that case it might be useful exploring this brain-based approach a bit deeper

What's your opinion of hyperbaric oxygen treatments? I know it's used for people who have experienced brain trauma, like childhood drowning, and hyperbaric oxygen is also used for wound healing. -I tried some hyperbaric oxygen treatments during a recent flare from ulcerative colitis, and my symptoms improved, but not enough to get out of the flare. The downside of hyperbaric oxygen treatments is that they are expensive and time consuming. Perhaps if I had done more treatments AND combined them with a local treatment, then I would have had success. (Prednisone and mesalamine enemas got me out of my flare.) Your ideas are interesting!
@ChrisGascoigne1
@ChrisGascoigne1 Ай бұрын
I think Hyperbaric oxygen is something that could be used as a useful tool alongside other therapies, but I highly doubt it's something that'll offer you long-term symptomatic alleviation Mark, because it just isn't a very targeted approach. Why I'm such a fan of functional neurology is because the in-person assessment allows the practitioner to identify the specific area of dysfunction/weakness within the brain & nervous system and prescribe very targeted exercises to improve it. Once you understand this it really makes sense as to why all these widespread treatment options never provide you with lasting results.
