this would be a really great tutorial if you would not use shortcut keys or at least tell us what buttons you're hitting. now i have to go find a secondary video to show me how and then come back here...or not.
@therealblenderbox3 күн бұрын
hey! I do tell you buttons I'm hitting in the video, blender operates almost exclusively on shortcuts or keyboard commands, you can do everything from menus, but only if you like wasting you're own time. if you're struggling, consider an intro to blender series before watching short form referencial tutorials like this. You could always figure it out yourself and upload your own video if you think this one is no good. good luck!

@@therealblenderbox thank you. yes, i am figuring it out on my own and no, you did not mention any shortcuts until halfway through the video. here's what you say "...delete the default cube. we need curves not corners, blenderbox. then add your new path and a new empty axis and scale it down to a manageable size." this is problematic as i have no idea how any of those actions are happening. pallets just appear and actions happen. granted i have since learned what "shift+a" and "s" does but it would have been nice if that info were included in this short form referential tutorial.

you should get familiar with the software in general first if you don't know how to open menus or delete objects, that's not the point of these tutorials. there's not comprehensive, they're referencial for people familiar with the software, you should manage your expectations and your approach to new software if you expect to learn everything in 90s if you want everything, all in one place, broken down by minutiea, blender has some of the most comprehensive documentation in the world, every interaction you could ever possibly need is a few clicks away in their website. so you can either do what I did and figure it out from there, or accept the fact that I gave you 90% of what you need in a easily digestible format and get the last 10% yourself, instead of passive aggressively critisicing other people's hard work

@@therealblenderbox i agree and i am learning. i am thankful that blender has such a huge community and people like you are sharing. i've been using c4d for 15+ years and blender is a real system shock. thanks again!

Thank you for the video ! It's a detail but which matters much : you have to double click on the edge you want to turn around. So that instead of black it becomes white. Without the second click, the rotation doesn't take place as exepected.

thank you for this! to anyone else who might encounter the same problem I did- if your plane becomes invisible after applying the cloth modifier, try turning off the realtime display (thats the little computer monitor icon ) of the cloth modifier. when you run the simulation, if nothing happens turn the realtime display back on, it should work then. :]

I dont understand how this can be so Fu*ing stupid... like I just need to object follow path without distortion, why must there be like these workarounds which does not even work for me. Sorry I just needed to release the tension, thank you for your video, but in my case it didnt work also, it started rotating the object in different way (Yes normals are correct)

If others are getting a grainy transparency, go to the material options, under Settings > Surface, change the 'render method' to 'blended' instead of 'dithered'
