I love the imperfections in the playing. It sounds like it’s being played by peasant farmers who are making a few extra coppers after coming in from the fields for the evening.

I saw Doc around this time up in Minneapolis with Michael. As I recall Merle wasn’t there due to an injury. Maybe a broken wrist, I can’t remember although Doc apologized for his absence. Wonderful show anyway. Doc didn’t ever disappoint.

100 years from now, people will still have an ear for this kind of music. There is something raw and real about this that human beings will always relate to. As a musician and 58 I am late to the Doc Watson party, but am here now, via Billy Strings. Great stuff!

Why are you clowns giving Billy Strings credit for Doc? You lost all credibility with that. This dude is a legend. Billy Strings couldn't carry his guitar... Merles either.

I don't follow Billy Strings, but I've probably seen a few live clips of him. In the end, I think it's good that someone gives attention to semi-forgotten musical heroes like Doc Watson. People like him need to be kept alive within the world of music, which is honestly getting more and more saturated with overproduced, quantized, soulless shit. I understand where you're coming from to a point though. I was looking through several music catalogues on spotify recently and realized how many frickin' good artists there has been. Real talent long gone. Having said that, I predict an artistical renaissance in the future as a result of money-grabbing producers who desecrate whatever good ideas they come across, as well as computer generated "crap" in terms of art in general. People may want the real deal, and will perhaps pay good money for it some day. Like old artisan craftsmen. Who knows. The pendulum will swing regardless.
