Great run Donato 👏 I’m pacing at local parkrun this Saturday, weather looks awful 😱

Hi Donato. I'm so envious of you. Running indoors in a vest in this weather! I'm presently injured with a calf strain (not running) but getting my aerobic exercise on a static bike in the garage (no heating, no vest, but plenty of layers). I bought the bike a few years ago prior to returning to running after a long hiatus and it's brilliant as I can get some non-weight bearing exercise in. Tedious and boring at times but not as painful as saddle soreness! Bytheway, I listen to BBC Sounds when I'm on my bike. Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show is my present 'fave'. Why don't you give it a go? Not a hint of Wham, Slade, Mud or Wizzard!

As a VWO60, I'm obsessed by the parkrun age grading. But there was 1 memorable week that I shall treasure forever when none of the usual quick young women turned up at my local parkrun and I actually won the ladies' part of parkrace (wash my mouth out) 😇. Won the age grade too! I'm aiming to be an Eleanor in years to come 🏃‍♀

Wow Eleanor is amazing and 100% right about just keeping moving. I always like it if my age grade position is higher than my actual finish position. As a V40 female I'm often running against lads half my age 😂

this is so funny. this is what i got on mine Bradley, you've run enough this year (1066 km) to escape Arsenal's trophyless seasons, but still not far enough to avoid them entirely! Your all-time 6160 km could’ve taken you to Siberia-just in time to chill after those 10-second strides. With 45233 meters in elevation gain, you're practically running to the moon, one hilly mistake at a time!

Cheers Donato. Awesome video. Fantastic drone footage (thanks Sheppy) and nice to rub shoulders with running nobility. What a star Eleanor is. I don't look at age grade percentages but 20:40 and 79.68 can't be too bad. I do think there are parkruns you could win outright with a sub 20 min. Case of selecting the right course and then relying on any elites not showing up. Fast, flat courses will always attract the speed merchants so a slightly tougher course will give you a better chance. Finished 1st on a couple of occasions. 19:18 was enough on one occasion.

Don't be discouraged, Donato...the turf is a much slower surface to race on. This looked like a cross country course...get yo' spikes on next grass course😉💪

Did this last week when visiting the area the weekend - Event #399. A great 50/50 course along the river. Eleanor did the prerace briefing and I could just tell she was a lifelong runner! I managed to dip under 20 mins which was a shock based on my current fitness.

Way to go Donato, 3rd is excellent for first attempt, yep going for age group podium is fun & helps motivate ya along, I won over a $100 worth of prizes for coming 1st in my age group in the half marathon last weekend, good fun, win a few prizes here & there, pays for race registration haha keep up the good work Donato 😀✅🌲🌴🏃🏽‍♂️🏃‍♀️

I’m still not sure if I’m speaking to you after dissing the backwards cap in the last video Donato. I’ve always ran with a backwards cap and will defend my right to run with a backwards cap till they take it out of my cold dead hand!!! A retraction is needed here to mend fences!!!
