I don't know why everyone says greatwood and wolnir are easy. Even after completing elden ring and DS1 I had such a horrible time fighting those guys. Bottom of F tier bosses worst in the series alongside bed of chaos

I'm still in the middle of my DS journey! Currently I'd rank DS1 (remastered) as my favorite because it was my introduction to the genre and I absolutely loved it. Rank 2 is probably Bloodborne, which I finished a few days ago, followed by rank 3 Elden Ring, which I did love, but was just a bit tooo long for me. I'm currently starting DS2. Will play Sekiro next and then DS3. Probably skipping Demon's Souls.

I'm not done with the dlc yet but I first or second tried most of these bosses with minimal upgrades death knight lightning def carried through hippo, rellana, even lion who resists it

You sorta nailed the problem on the head. Long runbacks for hard bosses would indeed suck, but so far as I'm concerned the solution shouldn't have been getting rid of runbacks, it should have been not going overboard with boss difficulty. I much preferred the older games where the level leading up to a boss was actually part of the challenge and learning to more efficiently navigate the level while killing or avoiding enemies along the way was just as important a skill as learning the dodge timings and punish windows for the boss, not to mention unlockable shortcuts could be a great exploration reward. It made the whole game more cohesive, whereas now whenever I have to switch between exploring the world vs fighting a boss, I feal almost as though I'm playing two different games awkwardly stitched together.

Wolnir is my 2nd least favorite boss after bed of chaos. Mechanically it's just as awful

4:30 this one depends on the player on what they consider "late game", but i kinda find this one true as well. Because you only get to access the rest of the map after killing fire giant which can also affect some of your npc quest lines, so by that point, some players would've explored the rest of the map, so after farum azula, there's not much to explore anymore, therefore its a very short late game

3:37 been playing this game since release, played it on 2 different platforms, finished it on platinum on both platforms, and still is playing (with mods recently included). I can say that this is true af. The map has bunch deadspace that it feels like a hassle to go for ng+ which we all know is a big thing for souls games

Sekiro is the only game I've played by them and I beat it. It was so damn hard.

They did such a good job to make the areas feel like they could be actual areas in real life. Like damn! I just finished this game a few weeks a go and I was so impressed. It’s easily my favorite game of all time. Now I’m playing Bloodborne for the first time and obviously I love it!

Thankfully I beat Shadows first try in Bloodborne, but Logarius was annoying. I had to do it 8 times and it’s annoying cause I needed to go farm blood vials really quick and then do that stupid run back.

Honestly I think Stormveil number 1, I just think the level design is better and the enemies are better, as well as the bosses I think Margit>Morgott and Godrick of GOLDfrey

None of the bosses were easy. Divine beast took me over 50 tries and I just gave up and summoned at the end. Idk what is it about me, but I found rellana way easier than the golden hippo for example, some of these bosses catch you on a bad day and make it worse, and others are on a good day and make it better

apart from radahn messmer was the hardest boss for me ... way more harder than bayle

Godfrey, Radahn, and Placidusax are honestly probably my top 3 picks by the end of my second play through (prolly would put Morgott one below). Godfrey just feels great, once you’ve really learned his attacks, it feels great to weave over, under, and around him getting in little chips of damage, and like you mentioned it feels cool to just have a straight warrior v warrior battle, without a ton of special tricks or having to chase your opponent esp since my first play through was a strength build, and my second was a dragon build. Even as Hora Loux once you learn the tight spacing for his attacks, you can get heals or hits after a lot of them. Placi and Radahn just have a perfect mix of spectacle and gameplay, with them having such wide-reaching attacks that are still generally fair to avoid, epic arenas an cinematic to their attacks, and charging at Radahn with an army of warriors just feels cool as hell.
