The last verse's orchestration breaks my heart every time. Because the melody of this part was laid out in the background for previous verses, almost like the subconscious decision that's already made at the start... But goodness, hearing the orchestration symbolicly build alongside the text of the piece is insane

I find this song a very good rendition although I have a slight problem with it. Jesus isn't supposed to grunt when he is whipped, which is why Pilate asked why he was so silent. I think this is the only one where Jesus expresses his pain as he is flogged.
