Hello, I am about to do the same experience for my Audi SUV, something you did not mention was if once arrived in Le Havre, the car had to go to inspections and get a authorization of usage on the EU territory. I see a LOT of information online but kind of overwhelmed.

I'm glad I stumbled across your video. I plan on spending 4 months in Germany. Next spring I planned on going back and bringing my track prepped E36 BMW to drive on the Nuremberg ring. I've been on many tracks in the US, but have always dreamed of taking it out on the nordschleife. AKA Green hell. And just for prosperity, snap a picture of it in front of BMW headquarters.😄

So… I’ve never watched your channel before… I came here because I was searching for Apple Vision Pro content and I just wanted to let you know I ALMOST switched off this video because the lady’s voice sounded so much like AI… the stock video at the very beginning didn’t help either 😂 I found it kind of funny but maybe it’s something you should know in case you lose potential viewers. The video in itself was great, very well done and I plan to use my Vision Pro in the same way… but I think it’s funny how much the wife’s voice sounds like AI.

Guys, you look like a Godsend to me - am in the process of planning something similar to your adventures (European part so far). Am surprised at the lowish number of subscribers and will do my best to promote your channel. One burning question - what is the best way, in your opinion, to get a visa for an extended stay in Europe, since the regular stay of no more than 90 days within 180 days regulation is an obvious impediment. To clarify - my wife and I are US Citizens. Please let us know and share, if you don't mind and have time to respond. In any case - a million thanks for the material you have already posted. I appreciate this comment SO MUCH! Thank you! The KZbin algorithm has always been interesting 😅We're in it for the long game so expect more from us. On that note of visas....that is something currently at the top of mind. Within the next few years, we're looking to establish some type of long-term residency in Europe. specifically is one country for more than 3 months. Got a few ideas. Currently the BEST option (with no visas) while complying with the Scheghan law, the UK is the best option to reset those 90 days. As a tourist, you can stay in the UK for 6 months. Ireland may be apart of the EU, but it is not in the Schengen area so you can stay there longer, too. That's what we did. Exploring visa options in Portugal and Spain first and when I have enough to share, I plan to share it on this channel. 👍

They wouldn't let us in because I didn't have the "official" green card for car insurance. I had a digital version that didn't suffice. If I'd known (before getting to the border) I would've requested the official card from the company in Germany. 😊

I had everything else, but not that. 😂 In this case, they would’ve needed the official one sent from the insurance company. A print out wouldn’t have worked. I asked if I could go print it out and come back and they said “no.” 😅

Thanks for making the video. I love the fact that they have dogs on board. We took the 'Queen Mary 2 from New York to Southampton. It looks like it was very cold when you made your voyage. We did it in August. We enjoyed being able to use the outside pools nd hot tubs. It is definitely better than taking a plane. We stayed in England for a week and then returned on the Brilliance Of The Seas. The Queen Mary 2 is a better ship than the Brilliance of the Seas. We did enjoy both. The Brilliance Of The Seas made severs stops along the way, one of which was France. Warner Athey.

That's so much easier than driving a right sided vehicle. First time I did it was in Japan in heavy traffic with a stick shift. That was a challenge. My left hand just did not want to change gears right.

Hi! I am planning to take my car to europe thanks to you guys! I am using RORO (Newark to Germany). I was told that I can only be in Europe as a tourist for six months by the shipping agent that will help me unload the car in Germany. How did you guys get around the six month limit as tourists? Did you have to leave a deposit of 30% of the vehicle value including freight at customs (refundable when I return). Please advice. I love your channel!

Welcome! 🤗 Germany's a fantastic starting point for your journey. Regarding extending your stay with your car, some countries might offer temporary permits for a few extra months if you're shipping your vehicle back home. We were advised about this by French customs. At the 6-month mark, we tried to request an extension at customs in the present country, but it seemed they either didn't understand or weren't concerned. While we got lucky with border crossings rarely checking our papers, I wouldn't risk staying beyond 6 months if you’re unsure. It's an adventure and only do what you’re comfortable doing. Either way, you won’t regret it ☺️

Never did. We did, however, avoid driving the car in Paris and Lyon, France. They required an emissions sticker on the dash. It was a blast 😀
