Zoo Tycoon 2 is just a better game overall. I hate how Planet Zoo is so overly complicated. Sometimes simplicity and freedom is just more fun.

I tried Planet Zoo. But Zoo Tycoon 2 is better for me. It’s much more intuitive for building.

Ngl mixxing Zoo Tycoon's Zoo mode with Planet Zoo's complexity would kinda make the definitive zoo management game imo

JWE2 is game based on a movie that is a hidden dino battle royale and people munching simulator PK is a nice little relaxing game full of learning opportunities and nostalgia of the golden age of TV dino safaris

Another thing that should be mentioned is that dinos never try to escape the enclosures even if they aren't secured tot he recommendation. Also you can place dinosaurs on the walking path with guests and there is no reaction either from guests or the dinosaurs. This is not a real game yet, but it's a fun sandbox.

So Parkasaurus is a fun little game that doesn't aim to be very realistic, and Prehistoric Kingdom is still aiming to be realistic and maybe a game, some day.

While I do agree with all the points you make, I think most of the points that are currently in Parkasaurus's favor, like better AI and guests that don't look like soulless demons, are due to PK's unfinished state. If we were to judge both games purely off of how it feels to play them right now, I think Parkasaurus wins. With enough development time, I think PK will win out in the end.

I've played Zoo Tycoon 1 & 2, Wildlife Park 1 & 2 and Planet Zoo, and Zoo Tycoon 2 just remains my favourite. It's simplistic, maybe too simplistic in some aspects but in many I find Planet Zoo overcomplicates a lot of things which sucked the joy out for me. The customisation options in placing decoration and stuff for zoo visitors is something that I quickly disliked. I need to delete something and it deletes half the thing because it was a collection of things slapped together that you can place as one thing but need to delete as many different things and just...oof. I also wish you could go into first person mode, that was really fun in ZT2. Zoo Tycoon 2 also had something that I missed in both Planet Zoo and Wildlife Park games - it was less serious and didn't just try to just be realistic, that added personality to the game that made it enjoyable and stand out. The cartoony art style only underlined that, and to this day I wish they made a true Zoo Tycoon 3 game, with modern graphics but still stylised and still full of plenty silly moments you can experience, just a game that isn't purely trying to be realistic.

A comparison I didn't expect I would see! for me, I play parkasaurus whenever I want to play a fun management simulator with quick and easy mechanics, it's also a light game I can play on my laptop while travelling to pass the time. Prehistoric Kingdom on the otherhand I prefer to play completely creatively, since the management features are 'lacking' and the creativity is limitless it's the perfect game to just get lost in and spend hours detailing. both great games I enjoy with completley diffrent play styles.

I'm someone who can't do modular building. I lack the skill, time, or PC power. So, personally to me, the building would be a draw back and my computer can't handle large amounts of assets, so workshop isn't a viable option.

Jwe2 does have modding tho which can greatly overhaul its gameplay and feel i think you should of mentioned that.

Zoo Tycoon 2 is 100% better. Games should be simple, easy to play and fun. Planet Zoo is overly complex and I feel mentally exhausted building a zoo. The only reason anyone would prefer Planet Zoo is the graphics.

Optimization and performance is a pretty big one that Planet Coaster fails in. Once your park is thriving and robust, the game becomes unplayably slow on more modest systems. The Cobra engine just isn't optimized for late-game parks. RCT3 on the other hand, aided by it's age, will be pretty much locked at 60fps at all times. Great video, keep it up.

I'm not really interested in comparing them. Planet Zoo is the only replacement I have for Zoo Tycoon 2. I can't play it anymore.

My favorite part about Zoo Tycoon 2 was all the mods and modding community, which was actually still slightly active last I checked last year. I was able to have Godzilla, Pokemon, Dragons and other cryptids in my zoos as well as hundreds of other real life animals and foliage that weren't in the base game and DLC. So unless PZ gets better true mod support ZT2 is just always gonna be my favorite of the two game.

Planet Coaster is too hard for me..I wish roller coaster tycoon classic will be upgrade like RCT 3 with pools and animal zoo in it.. i love the pixel graphic in RCT classic and mobile version.. it's still my no.1 healing game..

2:26 We also have to remind that RCT3 has a lot of personalized content by fans (CFR's), so in addition to a greater number of rides, we also have personalized content that Includes several recent and real-life rides and even their variations. (Even though it is difficult to find this content nowadays :P) Awesome video! 🎢❤

pretty hard to believe that planco 1 is "only" 12 years apart from RCT3, while Planco 2 is 8 years apart from Planco 1 lol. PC1 and PC2 look very similar, albite 2 having better lighting, but that's essentially it. the concept is the same. RCT3 however is like from the stone age compared to PC1. loved playing RCT3 as a kid tho, but never managed to achieve what i was planning on. now at 28 years old with PC2 and some Archviz knowledge, i can finally do it hahaha (albite feeling guilty while doing so since i got adult things to do )

I do not play Planet zoo but a bigger disappointment for me towards the game is the lack of dinos, iceage and "recently" extinct animals. Some folks will say, "oh play Jurassic world evolution for dinosaurs" and to me that is a dumb retort that shows a lack of braincells. in zoo tycoon 2 (Ultimate collection), I made a safari tour of a jungle, Styras, dodos, and even tapirs. Its amazing to see the Warrah (RIP, an animal that needs more attention) trotting in the grassland biome, the bluebucks. The Vraptors (feathery fluffers) chilling peacefully next to the Camels, now some will say "that isn't realistic" and I say, yea, but neither is Planet Zoo, plus JWE does not have shelters and enrichment for the animals because god daint it, I want to see the Utah raptors or Vraptors playing with squeaky toys.
