Great memories! All of those planes were so much classier than today's generic rubbish!! I remember parking up on arrival and you could hear the loud props of the Vickers Viscount. I would literally run to the terminal to see if I could catch it! The 1-11's, the Tridents, the Friendships.... Loved spending endless summer days on the gallery watching those planes. Gutted when Edinburgh closed the gallery. Great video, many thanks ❤

Amazing that you have this video. My dad was involved in this Airshow and i remember it well. He organized the emergency services display and ended up with a few more than was planned. Seem to remember that the Gannet sea-king also had a hydraulics failure at the same time as the 747, was some day!

Not pictured in this video, but I flew into Prestwick on a Wardair DC6 in summer 1964 from Edmonton, Canada via Sonde Strom, Greenland. I think it was some 15 hrs flying time or thereabouts. Exciting times for a 9 year old.

Many don't realise that PIK was the transatlantic hub .My grandparents would come across from Toronto in the 60's and 70's and I remember just how busy it was.Even from this video, watching the HS748 , you get an idea how loud those Rolls Royce Darts were. I have tinnitus now, in part because of them.

Kind of crazy to see the Air Canada jumbo at Glasgow when they now don't even fly there anymore. I recall seeing in one of these videos a Manchester to Ottawa flight on a Wardair 747 which would now be impossible. I guess those really were the effects of high amounts of immigration to Canada from the UK.
