Hi Joe, so glad you are doing these videos. it has answered many questions we had. still trying to decide to buy the 3911 which is more affordable for us or buy the 4311.

In the current line up the BayStar, on the Ford F53 chassis, is available with a lift, then the next one up is the Vantana, diesel pusher Then the DutchStar also a diesel pusher. You might be able to find a stock unit and get a deal but beware these units do not like to sit for long periods unused on a lot. A lot unit should have an independent inspection. Bets of luck.

Hi. We just got a new to us 2019 Ventana 4311. The swing door isnt operating and is popping the inline fuse. Any ideas? Maybe the pneumatic pump? If so, where is it located? Frameward of the power bay?
@goodxrvn20535 ай бұрын
If the door remains in place when you actuate the opening remote, check the lock. Can you open the lift door from the outside with the handle? If not, It may be locked or stuck not allowing the door to unlatch and open. If you do get the door opened manually, lubricate the lock arms and mechanism as best you can. Hope this helps. Joe
@davidposalski5 ай бұрын
@@goodxrvn2053 Thanks for responding. We pull the manual handle and it unlatches. Then by remote, a pump fills a pneumatic cylinder causing the door to swing open or shut. This is where the issue is. Pump doesnt run...and when fuse is replaced, it runs for a second and blows the 30a fuse
@goodxrvn20535 ай бұрын
@@davidposalski There may be a limit switch that has become disconnected or has failed. Or the pump is failing trying to draw too many amps. If you can find a wiring diagram, look for the limit switches for the door system. If the setup is anything like a DutchStar the pump is located at the back of the short tray. The baggage tray underneath the lift door. You might call Newmar Customer Service for guidance.

How'd the Inspection go and who did you use ???
@goodxrvn20535 ай бұрын
The Customer Pickup allows the customer to work with a Sr Tech at Newmar to both inspect and be trained on the new RV. Being somewhat technical myself, I work with the Tech to fully inspect, operate and verify all systems while you are at the Factory Service Center. Each system is explained and tested in from of you.

I am curious because I am picking up a 4071 from Trans-West in Colorado at the end of this month. Shouldn't your purchasing dealer be responsible for the alignment and balancing? What you did at Jo Sam must have been over $1000 out of pocket.
@goodxrvn20535 ай бұрын
Took delivery at the factory, the Newmar alignment warranty is 3000 miles or 3 months. Both exceeded in my case. Also spoke with Spartan, Matt at Spartan indicated that the chassis is not aligned at the factory. Comfort Steer and alignment needs to be setup and completed by body installer. Also, learned that I am 92 on the recall list for a new steering box. Hopefully the new parts are available soon to get that installed.

Great video!! I found it very informative. I want to make the diagnostic tool you show at 10:45. If I had that it would be a big help to me servicing our wheelchair vans. I know the one end plugs into the molex, my question is what does the other end bolt on to? I see it has a ring on the end opposite the molex - I just need to know where it attaches. On the 3911 and 4311 the door compressor equipment is in a space at the back of the basement slide. Directly behind the Power Bay.

I agree Joe, the Power Watchdog with EPO is by far one on the best EMS units on the market today, I have the 50-amp w/EPO hardwired unit as well as the 50-amp Autoformer voltage booster, It's been a great combo. Just to add onto the benefits of the Power Watchdog it has a limited lifetime warranty and a one time 2 year free replacement warranty on the replaceable surge module if it's used up.

Congrats Joe, looking forward seeing the new coach, good choice. I have both the 50-amp Power Watchdog with EPO, hardwired and the 50-amp Autoformer, When I'm at a park with only 30-amp service the Autoformer really helps. I have not had any issues with RV parks or resorts using the Autoformer. There is a lot of miss information regarding the Autoformer. Take care and have a Blessed day.

First thing I did when I got my van was to permanently jump power from the main post directly to the on/off switch, next was to remove the buzzer. Now I’m in the process of bypassing all the safety micro switches. I would not recommend this for a company that is transporting people, however I use mine for a utility lift, not to move people so I just want it to work no matter what
@goodxrvn2053 Жыл бұрын
Just a thought on the topic of micro switches and safety. For those reading this thread that may be unfamiliar with all that power interrupt micro switches disable. These safety switches disable the Lift during specific configurations. Power interrupt switches interrupt power when lift door is closed, vehicle is in gear, and other configurations where you do not want to be able to activate the lift motors by choice or accidently. Have you ever sat on a remote by mistake and activated a system accidently?? Make sure you understand everything that is disabled when excluding micro switches. Also, you will have to turn off the Lift manually when it is stored to avoid battery drains and excessive light on hours. My 0.02. Happy Travels...
@djsparkyy Жыл бұрын
@@goodxrvn2053 I have a high top passenger van that was used as a school bus for disabled children, not a RV, so I leave my lift switch on the lift post, never have to worry about sitting on it. I bypass the safety because I use it to lift large bulky items that sometimes will press against the front plate stopping it from raising mid lift. I definitely have accidentally left the lift switch on a couple times and drained my battery. Thankfully I carry a jump pack with me as well as long jumper cables so it hasn't left me stranded yet. The next mod I'm going to do is to power the door ajar light that my van came equipped with from the lift power so that when I power on my lift the light will remind me to turn it back off.

We’re only 50, so I told him we aren’t stopping! Bought a Newmar 4311 with one of these lifts, but we quickly realized it really wasn’t “handicap accessible” without this remote if I wasn’t there to go out, open the door, turn the thing on, hand him the wired remote. It was a huge MISS by Newmar. Do you sell these? I am going to try to have our awesome National Indoor RV Center here in Nashville TN try to install one. God bless! Geoff and Laura Stewart❤

Thanks for your comment. The remote model is in the show notes. You will find many business people will not make this modification as it is outside of Braun's US wheelchair lift specifications. The lift is designed by Braun to be operated by an "attendant" . Even the remote control manufacturer will not endorse this application for Liability purposes. All that said, it is a terrific modification and a similar device is available from Braun in Europe. These controllers are available on the Internet. Any person with wiring skills should be able to connect it for you. It is a simple addition. Best of luck with your Newmar. We are also in the market for a new Newmar Dutchstar 4311. Hopefully by Spring 2023🙂

How hard is it for you to hook to the park electric and water by yourself, or does someone help you?
@goodxrvn20532 жыл бұрын
An excellent question, over 4 years of travel, covering 25,000 miles, there have been only a couple of times that the hook ups were inaccessible. Those times either a local camper or campground staff were quick to help with the hook ups. That said, normally our stops are either dry camping (no hookups) or established campgrounds, National, State, County campgrounds with a combination of either partial or full hookups. Typically i managed the hooking up of the RV when traveling alone or with my wife, Gail. Thank you for the question.

My lift is from possibly 2001. One royal pain and usually the reason for the lift not working is those micro switches. At least on my lift they are cheap, flimsy , and of course a royal pain to get to. I have replaced them and have replaced brushes on the gate motor. But again, most problems are those stupidly cheap micro switches, always having to replace them.
@dexteralberts5972 жыл бұрын
That they don't use a weatherproof relay in the first place is maddening. I am about to replace the relay AGAIN! I'll be putting in a watertight housing to prevent damage.

The micro switch used to disable lift if not in Park with the gear selector is on teh transmission where the shifter cable joins the shift lever on the transmission. The lift door switch is on the door frame, a small black rubber covered switch.

You only talk about three levels - the highest, normal, and lowest - but the LiquidSpring system has five levels, as shown on the control panel. Does it really go from highest to normal in a single button push, and if so are the intermediate levels (medium-high and medium-low) actually available? The quick reference manual linked is for a four-wheel system and doesn't match what you seem to be describing, which is a rear-only system. The full "Installation/Operator Manual" linked to the rear suspension product page doesn't mention the intermediate positions.
