This is the coolest camera set up I have seen to date. Nice work and thanks for sharing. Safe Skies my friend.

I stand corrected. California. Looks a lot like Bobby Chain airport in Miss.

Looks like Bobby Chain airport. Flew in there the other day and the folks at the FBO were really good people. I will be back.

Great video sir. You seem very knowledgeable. Do you know how firestar compares to aerolite 103 as far as glide ratio and rate of descent and overall ease of handling? Is it forgiving to less experienced pilot? Is it more difficult without flaps? Can you slip it to lose altitude? I know this is an old video but any comment/advice is greatly appreciated. Ty

Nice! I liked performing deadstick landings in my (Cobra) ultralight produced by (Advance/Advanced Aviation) Good times. Id like to have a 2 seat STOL-ish LSA or ELSA *at a good price* lol. Great vid.

I'm jealous! I emailed Kolb. They wrote back, "because of fluctuating metal cost...no producing aircraft now". Bwah! If yours ever goes up for sale, write me back. And, yeah, awesome flight.
@aw83882 жыл бұрын
What an idiotic move! Shutting off your engine leaves you zero options for a go around on that airplane. So here's one scenario: No radio no electric airplane enters the pattern and doesn't see you.... you're committed to a landing the second you shut that engine off. What happens? You gotta put it down in the grass or taxiway. Don't practice engine off, practice engine idle.

Видео красивое!!! Будьте осторожны когда отпускаете камеру, при попадании в турбулентность или при боковом ветре тросик может намотать на винт.

Great info on gliding the Kolb, I've wondered about soaring with it to have more flight time. Thanks for not playing crap music.

My father is the designer and builder of the Sunseeker. I have fond memories of flying that bird. Nice to see one out there flying. It's a very durable machine.

I am a long time Chinook wt-ll pilot and I absolutely luv your antique sunseeker . I would love to restore one . Would you know where I might find a project ? Please let me know how I might contact you . I will try to run an add soon in Barnstormers Ultralight section to get you attention , even if it is only to talk Ultralights . Thanks Dan from Amanda , Ohio just South of Columbus

Hi Dan from Ohio , I am an old ultralight pilot , restored , cut my teeth and still flying (17yrs) my 84 Chinook Wt-ll . It is very custom and probably the nicest still flying . I absolutely luv your antique Sunseeker , don't believe they ever made it as far east as Ohio . Do you know where there might be one to restore ? If you are interested in seeing my 2 videos of the Chinook type in ezflyer54 here on KZbin . Luv to talk ultralights and let me know how I can contact you.Thanks Dan

My father is the designer and builder. Only 10 came out of the factory. A design way ahead of it's time and very relevant all these years later.

I no longer have a medical since I had some heart issues. I’m thinking about getting into an ultralight maybe, you certainly make it look like a lot of fun.
@wakataka534 жыл бұрын
You can’t beat the freedom, fun, and economy of Ultralights. You do need to be mechanically inclined or have a close friend who is. There are very few A&P mechanics who will work on them. I prefer to do my own maintenance, and Part 103 allows that.

Very good practice. 40 feet short of the taxiway spot from 3,000 feet is a winner anyway.
