Note if you intend to use the Ecoflow Flow 3 as a UPS for a Synology NAS, the NAS will not detect it. At least, that is my experience. I have submitted a ticket to Synology Support requesting it be added to the Compatability list.

My Bluetti power station takes an 8mm barrel-type power input plug. Does this charger come with the necessary cable to make that connection? Or would I need to order an XT-60 to 8mm adapter cable? I can't seem to find any information on this issue.
@solarguy11 күн бұрын
This charger outputs XT60 so you would want to get an XT60 (male) to 8mm barrel cable. I just checked and you can get them on amazon, for example.

So how stable is it as A UPS? If I plug a 3D printer into it ac Turn on the AC with the button. Can I disable the AC turn on button so that it can't be turned off with the button? and then plug it in, and then it'll just act as AUPS of the power I ever goes out.

One difference is the longer UPS response time. River 2 is supposed to be <30ms and River 3 is <20ms. Which is more important for sensitive equipment. Next they will have the River 3 Plus which is supposed to be <10ms which is getting much closer to pure uninterrupted supply of power.

I use my River 3 as a UPS for my router, (3) Blink camera hubs and 2 Pi servers for home monitoring and vpn. The whole setup uses 29w which fits the River 3 perfectly. I get about 7-8 hours of backup power on UPS. When I first hooked up the unit, I powered the Pi servers through the USB-C port, thinking this would be more efficient. The problem was that the pass-through charging did not take into account the DC ports and the battery would cycle between my set limits continuously. The app would show 26w of AC charging and 29w of discharge. THIS IS NOT GOOD! I then took the servers off the DC and used the ac power supplies. The River 3 then correctly charged at the usage level (29w) without cycling. Success!

Ecoflow limits XT60 plugs to 8A at 12v if you want to input anything of higher amperage or voltage you need to use an XT60i plug. This is so the power station doesn't overload the average 10A car circuit.

Thank you for your video! Can you connect the ultra battery to the pro 3 generator for greater capacity? Prices for extra batteries seem similar for the extra batteries but the ultra is 2KW more...
@solarguyАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! No, you can't connect the Ultra battery to the DP3, unfortunately. The way to save with the DP3 is to get the Delta Pro extra battery. It doesn't stack as well but works great. You might need to get one of the longer flex cables if the configuration doesn't work for you. If you don't mind refurbished, you can check the EF store on ebay.

Yep, Delta 3 Plus has 1000WH battery and the 1800W AC inverter as well, for $650. River 3 Plus is typically $209 + the extra battery, and is 600W of AC, for a little less ($508) for the 300WH smaller add on battery, and who knows how much for the 600WH larger battery.. my point of getting the base model is to backup my NAS and Network equipment, which draws 339Watts, until my generator starts.. so their is no interruption…. The run time is not a concern. Also the UPS USB integration with the NAS will get an orderly shutdown, if the generator fails..

@@leokolev in a perfect world I agree. I usually use USB C to USB C when I can. Nonetheless majority of people probably still have USB A to USB C cords and that's why they added them. Again I agree they should provide a configuration like you said. As for using a Hub? You don't have to use it but until that perfect world exists and someone need extra ports you can use it in a pinch. That's great you have a engineering background. That still doesn't mean a mere consumer like myself can't speculate why they still include the outdated USB A.
