Hi Dan! I am really enjoying your videos. I love the way you go about it. You catch a a TON of fish. Making me contemplate the kayak scene for sure. One quick question, do you tie knots or use swivels to connect leader to main-line? Keep up the great fishin’ and thanks!

Hi, thank you for the kind comment! Generally I tie my braid directly to the leader with a uni to uni knot.

U used the right rig for beginners in Hawaii also a decent way of catching live bait for predators like for omilu’s ( bluefin jack) and uluas ( giant trevally) it’s a start…don’t mess with feeding puhi’s ( eels) with hands ..they’ll shred your fingers !…

Great video. I enjoy watching your fishing channel. I just can’t explain why you throw the shorts back into the water so carelessly. I’m sure it’s over sight, but you fling them over carelessly and without respect. I’m sure you are not aware but watch your videos. A careful and graceful release shows respect and gratitude 🙏.

Great video Dan!. The underwater view is a great addition to the videos. Being able to see those fish helps us understand how they behave. I got out the same day in Jamaica bay and my fishfinder was reading 48 degrees for surface water temp and the bite was completely shut.

Thanks Greg, yeah, it’s really interesting to see how they act and respond to the bait. I’m hoping to get the camera down there next spring as a point of comparison! I think I’m done with tog, and potentially salt for this season… looking forward to starting up again in 2025! Hope to see you out there!

Awesome videos. One question, why is your sinker line is shorter than the hook line? People seem to be using rigs like this for tog. I am curious to know the reason. If the hook line is shorter than the sinker line, would that be less effective? I am interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks
@FishinAccomplished
@FishinAccomplished 29 күн бұрын
Good question! I don’t fish rigs all that often so I tend to play around with rig length. I like to give a little line so fish has a bit of space to pick up and move the crab… if it’s very short, they might immediately feel that weight from the sinker.

hello, I went to kensico 9 times and have yet caught a brown trout. I’ve been using half ounce spoons. I’ve been fishing for two hours closer tonight. I cast as far as I can deep water I let it sink and I slowly retreive with some pausing and some twitching, I don’t understand why I can’t catch it wrong and how can I fix this?

Dude, I've learned my lesson landing kayak fish, they go on the bumpboard while in the net, and I don't take them out or unhook them till they're on the clip! I once had a keeper fluke flop out of the net and into the water while it was in my lap! And once on the clip they get their throats snipped for a clean kill and white fillets.
