Great video, love the setup! I don't like "borrowing" others blueprints so I created my own following a similar design. Ran into some issues I wanted to ask you about. 1. Do you run two total trains on the highway, one in each direction based on the lanes? If so, are two lanes on the same side intended to be a loop? 2. How do you branch off the highway to other train stations? I made an exit ramp by hand but it looks kinda messy and not sure if it will even work. Looking forward to more videos!

You can go out beyond 11 foundations now that we have the nudge tool. You place a Painted Beam in freeform mode, attached to the two corners on either side of the gap you're trying to close, centered vertically on the foundations so the beam is horizontal. Then you hover over it with a foundation until the hologram snaps to the beam, press H to hold the hologram in place, then nudge it until the foundation's positioned neatly in the gap between the two original foundations. From there, you can zoop foundations back towards the center of the circle until the entire length of the gap is closed, then dismantle the painted beam. This works smoothly out to ~22-24 or so foundations, at which point every other foundation will be from your original circle, and in between each of them will be one full foundation filling in the gaps between 12 and ~22-24 foundations out from the center. You can then repeat this trick again and build out to another ~32-36 foundations, but as you build out you may need to alternate alignments on your filler foundation to prevent your filler foundations from slowly drifting out of alignment. This painted beam method overcomes the limitation of 5 degree rotation increments, and it can be used in diverse situations. For example, if you do have foundations off of the world grid, you can use painted beams connecting the corners to bridge the gap. You can also do things like drag one sector of a curved path out 10 foundations and another out 11 foundations, then smooth out the transition from 10 to 11 by running a painted beam from the corner of the 11-foundation sector to the far edge of the adjacent 10-foundation sector, then placing foundations along the beam to create a smooth edge.

I did exactly the same thing. A lot higher to avoid having to make so many curves around obstacles and only with one train line. BUT, the train railway does not work correctly when testing it. The connections from the blueprints even though they look connected are not. Have you tested this and what would be your solution? I had to delete all the rails and redo them.

Things like rails, belts, power lines, do not connect with blueprints. You have to connect all those manually.

it was crazy to me that they released 1.0 without curved road tool. I mean the principle is already in the game. Let it work just like with conveyors: pick foundation, press "r" until u enter "road" mode, press "e" to pick 1, 2, 4m wide and just drag it along like a conveyor! I mean it might not be a best tool, but it at least something

I'm having a problem finding any videos with loading and unloading trains to make sure each load/unload goes to the right place with the right amount. An example would be I want to have a smelting factory that sends out ingots to 3 different factories (Screws, Rods and plates), Currently I am making 1800 ingots/min and I want to send 600/min to each factory evenly with 3 different trains and then eventually send trains from each of those factories to send those materials to higher tier parts (Heavy modular frame factory needs like 1270 of the 2400 I will be making). That plus an explanation on the stop settings for the timetable with the and/or wait for x seconds.

Is there a real advantage on having 2 railways in each direction ?
@KyloBuilds
@KyloBuilds 9 күн бұрын
right now, im not 100% sure, but I am going to be testing to see if I can use the 2nd ones as an overflow. I would need a lot of trains to see the benefit. I think the main advantage will be entering roundabouts, as there will be 2 ways to go every direction, so the path signals should allow 2 trains in theory.

WHY is the world grid so important, you can make factories like everyone elsein the game on the same grid, well done
@blaqnycvids5959
@blaqnycvids5959 9 күн бұрын
Benefit of world grid means that you can have a factory on one side of the world and a factory on the other side of the world, and they will always be able to link to each other without any weirdness or issues.

I have often started a factory, then popped another one nearby, then later on decided I would like to connect them together. Then I get annoyed that they don't line up and my bridges etc are just a little bit out and twisted. Then I say to myself 'if only I had used the world grid!'. Then I continue making my spaghetti connections.

It ensures all your buildings will properly align. When you build off these tracks, the factory will also be on the world grid as a result. Makes connecting several factories together always align perfectly

It's just optimization thingy with a mix of perfectionism. It basically lines up your foundation in cardinal directions N,S,E and W, so it makes it easy to calculate and control direction your factory or buildings would be facing

In response to a few people here- I just like everything lining up 100%, another reason is other methods can be fixed with beams and such which takes more time and is not 100% straight (that would bug the hell outa me), and the aesthetic of the curves is also to my liking 😁😁

very nice, have you done any blueprinting on ramps? I find getting curves to work with ramps a true pain.
@KyloBuilds
@KyloBuilds 8 күн бұрын
I made the HWY at sea level for that exact reason to not change in elevation. You cant place the barriers on ramps like you can with pillars/railing. The middle of the map that is MUCH higher will have its own rail network that will connect VIA Drones/vertical bus system for end game. Side note- Curves and ramps are a massive pain, and I dont really want/need to involve myself as of now with that mess lol. Maybe in the future!

In the video you show some end product of what can be done. While helpful for getting references, there is zero information on HOW to build it. I'm looking for tutorials because I haven't learned to build like this myself, not because I lack inspiration. It would be really helpful seeing some in-betweens of the "cut" between "here's a wall. Give some space both ways" and "here is the gargantuan result you'll gonna get".

Keeping the type one curves on the world grid isn't too hard, you just have to build out only 45 degrees of the curve and then work back from the other end, letting them be a little bit off where they meet in the middle.
