Thanks Derick, love to hear a plain talk on the evidence of Daniel as a forgery - I think linguistic studies proves it was written very late 200BCE and not the 500-600 BCE as the book indicates. I also understand that some cannons of scripture have Daniel that has more characters. Go figure 😂

Amazing re: Dead Sea Scrolls being written 100+ years before Jesus or the first Hebrew Bible. Also the Brits and man forcing the creation of Israel is not the same as fate especially when we now know most Israeli (80% Ashkenazi Jews) are not native to the land, not Moses people being mostly from northern Turkey which had a huge Jewish conversion in the 800's AD for political reasons and from Central Siberia at the same time as Hungarian Magyars migrated into Europe from the Asian steppe. Still can't believe Israel dumped El for the lesser local dangerous, wind/war deity YHWH, oops.

When a person starts out introducing themselves as an atheist who always has been and always will be an atheist, you know that everything that's about to follow isn't scientific. It's absolutely going to be biased. She's already determined that atheism is true and now she's going to try to prove it to you. That's all that's going on here. And because atheists have no moral qualms about lying, because sin doesn't exist because sin doesn't exist, you're about to hear a bunch of lies.

Dr. Bart D Earhman is not a mathematician nor a physicist, neither a logician for that matter. What he deals with is a very inexact science, all his hypothesis (apart from his facts) are at their core subjective, ad-hoc and biased and by definition are heavily laden with a 21st retrospection. For all we know, only his facts can be debated and contested, his theories are just his intuitions running wild. But the thing is, should he, for his academic freedom, allowed to, for his ad-hoc theories, hack on a belief system that is only source of spiritual, meaningful and purposeful life experience for most of the people in his country. Is the bargain worth it? Are you sure that the star gazing mythology of neil deGrasse tyson/Stephen Hawking or Natural history mythology of Richard Dawkins/Daniel Dannet et. al, etc. can ever replace the faith. Should he be allowed to corrode the roots of culture, purposefulness, meaningfulness of human life??? And what about the culture and a man, who is free to choose his own pseudo-religion, is it even possible to have individualistic religion? What if all his work, is a big net negative for satisfaction, contentment, wholesomeness, felicity and purposefullnes of life of masses.

The Quran talks about Adam and Eve, the sons of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Lot, Joseph, Moses. There is only one source for those stories and that's the Torah. Unless you believe angels whisper stories from texts written centuries before into the writer's ear. The names of those characters originate from the Hebrew bible, even if similar stories come from Canaanite, Sumerian traditions. The Quran plagiarizes those names and details. I have no idea what Derek's point is.

(Jehovah)[ the causative form, the imperfect state,of the Heb verb ha-wah' (become): meaning " He Causes to Become"] The personal name of God.(Isaiah 42: 8; 54: 5) Though Scripturally designated by such descriptive titles as "God," Sovereign Lord," "Creator," "Father," the Almighty," and " the Most High," his personality and attributes --- who and what he is - and fully summed up and expressed only in this personal name. --- Psalm 83: 18. " Jehovah" is the best known English pronunciation of the divine name, although "Yahweh" is favored by most Hebrew scholars. The oldest Hebrew manuscripts present the name in the form of four consonants, commonly called the Tetragrammaton ( from Greek te-tra-, meaning "four," and gram'ma, "letter") These four letters ( written from right to left) are π π` and may be translated into English as YHWH (or JHVH). You have to go to the oldest Hebrew manuscripts. Paganism's beliefs come from false teachings but we do know that the apostasy developed rapidly after John's death. "Christians" ceased to use God's name and substituted "Lord" or "God" for it in the Bible manuscripts. By the fourth century, the false doctrine of the Trinity had infiltrated the congregation. During this same period, the idea of an immortal soul was being adopted. Finally, Roman Emperor Constantine made " Christianity" the state religion, and this gave birth to Christendom, where Church and state joined forces in ruling for a thousand years. It was easy to become a new style " Christian." Whole tribes adjusted their earlier pagan beliefs to versions of this religion. Many of the leaders in Christendom became oppressive political tyrants, enforcing their apostate view by the sword. Pretty much like today, false religion (Christendom 's religion incurred a heavy blood guilt by persecuting and killing those who translated, read,or even owned the Bible.

Amazed people don't understand Jesus came to free our minds so we can live in Heaven today, here on earth, in this life time, not some magical afterlife. No more Hell, mentally. No one knows the exact hour of Christ's return, why? Because it happens all the time, somewhere in someone's heart. And yes it will take almost all of us to change before we all get Heaven on earth (Christ's return) because our evil leaders prefer to rule in Hell than give up control of the garden. Just look at the collective soul of the people of this world praying for an end to the Gaza genocide and war in general yet our leaders continue to drop bombs everyday. One day our leaders will act like responsible humans, in Jesus name.

the problem is that we as humans believe that we are incapable of spiritual experiences because we see ourselves as 'not divine in any way' so when someone does have a spiritual experience (in the form of human form) humans have this OCD to want to label it as 'christian' 'islam' 'whatever' instead of understanding spirituality is innate to us, its in our nature, religion is something else.

The name “Yahweh” is based on the consonants YHWH, which is one of the names for God used in the Old Testament. In ancient Hebrew, the vowels were not normally written. So, God didn’t become Yahweh, HE IS YAHWEH!! This would not have been a problem for native speakers and readers. JEHOVAH is the same name based on the Latin equivalents of the Hebrew letters: JHVH. Jehovah became the English translation of the Latin form of the Hebrew name. For all practical purposes, Jehovah and Yahweh are the simply English and Hebrew pronunciations for God’s name. However, it has become more popular in recent years to use Yahweh instead of Jehovah because it is technically more accurate. The name Yahweh comes from the Hebrew word for “I am.” When God met Moses at the burning bush and commanded him to go back to Egypt and lead the people out, Moses asked who he should say has sent him. “God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am.’ And he said, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: “I am has sent me to you.”’ God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: “The LORD [YHWH], the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.” This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations’” (Exodus 3:14-15). Several things must be noted here in order to properly understand the significance of the name Yahweh. First, the tetragrammaton, which is the technical term for the four letters YHWH, is based on the Hebrew word for “being.” It could be translated “I am who I am” or “I will be what I will be” or perhaps even “I am the One who is.” Regardless of the specific translation, the name speaks of the self-existence and self-sufficiency of God. All others are dependent upon Him for life and breath and existence. He is dependent upon no one. It is for this reason that the Jewish leadership in Jesus’ day thought it was scandalous, blasphemous, and worthy of death for Jesus to utter the words “Before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:58-59). Second, the ancient Hebrew scribes considered God’s name too sacred to write or pronounce. When vowels were later added to the text, the scribes took the vowels from the word adonai, which means “lord” or “master,” and inserted them between the consonants. Instead of pronouncing Yahweh, they simply pronounced the word Adonai. Following this practice, most English versions of the Bible translate YHWH as “LORD” (all capital letters) as seen in Exodus 3:15, above. When the Scripture speaks of the Lord YHWH, then the English versions will have “Lord GOD” with the word God in all capital letters. So, both LORD and GOD in English versions stand for YHWH. The pronunciation yäˌwā is our best estimate of how YHWH would have been pronounced. Since we do not have the original vowels, we cannot know for sure. The significance is in the meaning, not the pronunciation, just as Jehovah is still a sacred name, even if it is not a technically correct spelling. Yahweh is the covenant name for the God of Israel. In Exodus 3:15, as Yahweh speaks to Moses, He says that He is also the God of the patriarchs. Then He says, “I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself known to them” (Exodus 6:3). This declaration drives us to further study, because both Noah (in Genesis 9:26) and Abraham (in Genesis 22:14) spoke of Yahweh by that name. Moses himself seems to suggest that the Hebrews were already familiar with the name Yahweh (in Exodus 4:1). How, then, should we understand God’s statement that He did not make Himself known to the patriarchs by the name Yahweh? The answer seems to be that, whereas Noah, Abraham, et al., knew the name Yahweh-and thus knew that God is eternal and faithful-they never experienced the full impact of that name. God had manifested Himself as ”Almighty” but not as “the absolute Being working with unbounded freedom in the performance of His promises“ (Keil and Delitzsch, Biblical Commentary on the Old Testament). For those before Moses, the fulfillment of God’s promises remained distant, and their view of the character of God was murky. That was about to change with the exodus, as God delivered His people with great miracles and kept His promise to Abraham. Other names for God might be considered descriptive, but Yahweh is personal. It is by this name that He covenants with and leads the nation of Israel. Yahweh is the name of Israel’s God and the God who came to earth as Jesus Christ, Yahweh in the flesh. Matthew 1:21 says, “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” The name Jesus is from the Latin form of the Greek form of Yeshua, which literally means “Yahweh saves.” So Yahweh will save His people from their sins, and simultaneously Jesus will save His people from their sins. This is just one of many instances where Jesus and Yahweh are equated.

Jesus was himself a gnostic. In that there was a secret to what the kingdom of God was and how to enter it. But knowing the secret was available to anyone who could think it through. All explained in Mark 4:10. And the usage of "He who has ears to hear, let him hear". That was the good news and his mission. Explained in Mark 1:14 and 1:38. The clues to uncovering the secret are all in the Gospels.
