Was told that you shouldn't use any vac to pickup say carpet fresh powder type products from your carpet is that true? Was told it messes with the filters and motor and doesn't pick up the fine powder either.

One note, your belt can get stretched over time. It may look perfect, but a clue this has happened is the belt will not engage in the ON position. If this happens, just replace the belt.

I just take one of my boys long soccer socks and slide the hose into it to provide padding to the plastic. I've done this half a dozen times without any issue. I wash on cold and low or medium spin.

I can remember my parents buying a Kirby in the 80's . My dad worked out that if you smashed up bricks and hoovered them up the Kirby would turn it to dust , he used the dust to make fancy bricks for Victorian house we lived in . I made a macanical sieve and sieved 200 barrow loads of soil for are garden . We then had it serviced by Kirby and they basically ruined it by fitting plastic bit instead of metal, didn't last long after that . Lesson learned BUY a Kirby don't let Kirby service it

yes the air intake guard/filter. It’ll make sure you don’t have dust and debris coming out of your new blower. Useful if you want to clean something delicate like a dusty computer.

Thanks, I didn't have the bag turned in all the way. It was fairly tight and took a little force, but once I clipped it in all the way the machine came on. Now if I could figure out the best way to set the brushes. I think I may have the brush bar too low and it's only on the 2'nd mark. Sometimes the machine really sucks down way to hard on some carpets.

I just have to tell you, that you just saved my life. Thank you so very much. My husband usually does this stuff and I needed to get this house vacuumed while he was at work and could not for the life of me. Figure out what to do with this thing. I had a belt I had a dead vacuum. I had no clue what to do. Thank you so very much for your video because you made it so easy and you explained it so well and my house is now vacuumed. Is it nessery to close the hole on front side when we use rainbow for painting the walls?

Yes otherwise you will suck paint up inside your vacuum. Also, my personal opinion is this is a $3000 vacuum. Can it paint? Yes. Should you use it as a painter? Good video! But it's much easier & more proper to say the word height as hīte. The e, g, & h are silent. Remember, there is no th sound in height... it's ght, like in sight, might, right, tight. Sorry, just a pet peeve, as when people say expecially or expresso instead of especially& espresso.

My parents bought their Rainbow at least 35 years ago (my dad said it's closer to 40) and the main carpet beater just conked out yesterday (June 8, 2024), the motor on the Rainbow unit is fine. My dad now 91 years old told me they've never had to get it serviced, but I did have to replace the hose once a few years ago.

That sounds about right :) Rainbows last decades and one reason why we rebuilt them. When my wife's Grandpa passed (they lived in the same house in Chicago their who lives and they were amazing people) we were going through their basement and found a 1942 Rainbow. I could not help it I plugged it in and it fired right up. They were just straight suction back then but it still worked great! Compare that to the disposable stuff everyone buys at Walmart you are for sure money ahead to buy a Rainbow. www.greatvacs.com/collections/rainbow-vacuum-cleaners

They do work good but it is like hauling around a shop vac through your house. And you have to take it apart, fill the tub with water, put it back together then pull it around the house. We like ours but pretty much never use it. We bought a Ryobi cordless stick vacuum and love it. You just grab it and walk around the house cleaning. Not cords or huge vacuum to pull around. When we finish vacuuming with the Ryobi, I charge the battery (which takes about 2 hours) and put it back on the vacuum and it is ready to go for the next time I want to use it. And I can clean the entire 2,400 sf house on just 1 charge.

Think this guy may be an idiot. Unless that handheld vac is a sealed unit with a hepa filter.. he's blowing all the mold, pollen and dust from the filter right out the back of that vac filling up the room with a ton of allergens. Then there's the fact the guys cleaning the filters in their office or what looks to be a living room. That's freakin' ridiculous.
