Those brush roll settings are for when the bristles wear down always put it on setting 1 then over time move to 2 then to 3. If u put it on 2 or 3 to begin with ur gonna wear the brush down really quick

Yes and no :) We have done tests and a lot of the popular low pile carpet that people have today the brushroll won't make great contact on a "1". The point I am making here in the video is if you want to optimize your cleaning change your brushroll settings to fit your home and your carpet.

the bag on my Kirby g4 is full and it still sucks better than a dyson

The points in this video applies to most makes of cleaners out there as well. Thank you, Dustin for making this video.

I have a Tradition and these tips helped a lot. Especially the belt replacement segment. I compared mine the same way and man it was stretched!

I have a G4, G5 and two Sentrias and never knew about the brush roll setting! I think I bought the G5 from you guys years ago. My first Kirby was in the early 70's it was green and did not have self propelling (Dual Sanitronic 80)

I'm currently trying to make a powerful custom g4. I'm going to paint it black polish it out. Give it a blue led instead of the green one and a super bright led head light. Buy a handle off a newer model with a cool black bag it'll look sick. Bit the best thing I want to do is find a way to up the power on the mottor. Try to get it to spin twice as fast or replace the mottor with one that is far more powerful. I was this thing to suck up everything

Hey I would upgrade the Kirby to bagless and get a stretch hose and a 50 foot cord for it!

Kirby's are around a thousand dollars. They are far from what is claimed. I vacuum in a gymnastics gym. There is chalk everywhere, so I need a vacuum with good suction power. The Kirby does NOT live up to the hype. I wish I knew how to attach pictures and videos, showing its lack of performance. Even doing everything, suggested in this video; the air flow and or suction is below par. If the vacuum is brand new (not reconditioned) then it does good, but in less than six months it turns to garbage. I really wish I could attach a video. For average use I guess it would be okay, but for heavy duty work, it fails.

carpets in gyms are usually just flat carpet squares, not what a Kirby is designed for

@@williamkinkade2105 What type of vacuum would you recommend? I would like to get as much chalk out of the carpet bonded foam as possible. Thanks for responding.

@@carlpeterson7812 Why wouldn’t you just use a shop vac?
@carlpeterson78122 жыл бұрын
I use a shop vac on any exposed cement. If I was to use a shop vac on the entire gym, it would take at least five times longer; not to mention cleaning of the filter every hour or two. My back could not handle that. The chalk really sticks to the filter and destroys suction. Thanks for the idea.

@@carlpeterson7812 like what wait what you mean chalk literally from chalk or as a describing word? Depending on the kirby model you may be able to use a 12 foot or longer hose connected to the exhaust port ie where the bag assembly goes on... and the other end outside someplace acceptable to exhaust whatever you refer to by chalk... assuming presumably because of chalkboard for teaching in a compulsory public school pe etc idk
