It's really dispairing when KZbinrs talk about old stuff that many people would like to buy but it's no longer available... this should stop.

The best, in my opinion. 9 out of 10 questions I have about smithing, there's a great bet that John has a video for it. Thanks so much for what you do, Sir

Have you ever made a good quality stove pipe damper? These 6" cast iron dampers always wear out, well I guess the spring on the damper rod wears out actually, but I bet something handmade would last forever. I would buy one if you made it. Love watching this stuff. My great grandfather was a blacksmith back in the 1950's. I love seeing old pictures of his shop, hearing about all the inventions he would design to make his work go much easier. Thanks for making these videos!

Thank you! Son (21 yr old, very strong - I know he doesn’t have to but probably wants to put all of his might into it) wants to get an anvil, a big one, and I was thinking of getting him one for Christmas. Do you have any recommendations? How do I move it once it gets delivered. Wrapping it is probably out of the question! 😂

This just the answer. Dad has an old railroad tie anvil and rings like a bell. Deafening; too late for him and maybe his assistant... I think I know where a bodarc went over. A bodarc stump could set outside for 20-30 years . Silicone might shut it up.
