I'm glad to see a channel branch out and cover different things that are still related to the normal material. Makes the channel more interesting. For me, the opening scene of A Link to the Past where Link is still in bed is a key scene for me. It was the first time I really noticed background sound effects (like the rain outside), and that sound getting louder when you go outside blew me away! I looked for things like that in every game I played after that.
@TechDweeb9 күн бұрын
Thanks buddy! That is such a great scene. I agree that'd be an awesome scene for one of these things.

Having reviews of the next RG-XX device is good, but not that much different from the next channel. Content like this, refreshingly different but still retro related makes this channel stand out. Thanks, subbed.

You definitely know how to make a beautiful print, draw, and use (non-Apple) software to make art. The blacks and the color balance is no amateur work there! We love it! Retro-slash-Art content is a wonderful way to go! Your explanation is very concise! I bet you're a professional artist. An art teacher, perhaps. Or, maybe a graphics designer or a sign maker. You're very talented, friend!
@edtuckerartist9 күн бұрын
Tip If you don't have a printer no problem, open image in editing software and zoom to the size required then use tracing paper over your screen to draw (with a soft 3b pencil), cut out, place on card and draw again in colour with markers/felt tipped pens or whatever works. might need to separate the background elements and draw them individually. *this will take a bit more effort and time than printing!

I hope this video performs well stastically and engagment-wise. This is absolutely the kind of content I want to see more of. Little personal touches like making your review of a device noir, or an opportunity to express the vibe of the hobby without having to spring for a device that's a crap shoot as a gift option. I'm hyped to clash up some of my favorite match ups in GGX2 or Melee from way back when with the boys for Christmas this year.
@TechDweeb9 күн бұрын
It won't do well, but that's all good. I don't make vids like this to be top performers. I make em because it's one of my hobbies and it makes it fun. This is a video for the people who are into this sort of thing, and I'll always make stuff like this for those fine dweebs

I did a similar thing as your black edge coloring to all of my (yes all) cardboard tokens from the X-Wing Miniatures game with paint "markers". Took a long time and several coats each, but the color matched and shiny edges look great, and the cardboard tokens will be much more durable. Well, off to do a Blaster Master...Or maybe Metal Warriors shadowbox!

I was also just thinking you could probably either place some kinda little Christmas tree bulb or find some kinda little yellow or orange LED light to take out of something and place it behind your campfire and power it with a little AAA battery pack or something to give your shadow box a neat lighting effect and make your campfire look like it’s actually glowing!? 🤔 That would be a whole project in itself, but you never know it might actually look pretty cool?
