You can also add a lock nut at the end of the spring screw, so it can only spin to a certain length. The G line already has this (and a longer side wall on the clamp so it can't spin). I want to try the G model ones on my electric C.

are the specs known? Could it be modded and used for the existing lamps which currently run on a 6V 3W Dynamo? 🤔
@OneLessCar
@OneLessCar 24 күн бұрын
I don't think that would be worth doing. If you have a traditional dynamo set up I'd pair it with lights meant for that. You'll get a brighter light.

@OneLessCar Yes but current lamps could be replaced with more efficient ones. Anyway I already replaced my broken dynamo with a old style regular one.

I've been riding Moultons for literally 60 years. Lovely bikes, uniquely comfortable so that anything else seems crude. But I wouldn't dream of encumbering my beautiful AM22 with a lot of heavy electrics. I am an old purist, I suppose, but while I can still pedal I will. How very silly of ARCC to put the launch control on the left pedal. The vast majority of cyclists push off with their right foot. So why?

Which side was this? I'm hoping to do it next year from the west as part of a longer tour. And are there regular water taps/springs? I did Alps last year and on Stelvio/Spulga the water taps literally saved me I would not have made it without them

I have the Vado sl 4.0, love it, only two flaws, needs a bit more torque, And the chargers are rubbish, no fan, no vent, gets extremely hot after 15 min, on my third charger!!.

Bike for rent: We insert the credit card at the beginning, how will the system withdraw the money from us if we take more rides?. When we leave the bike, do we leave it somewhere or do we need to put it back at the station? How do we do anything from the phone when we place the bike anywhere?

Great to see a new video from you! I'm very interested in the idea of discreet wearables, I'd probably prefer a smart bracelet to a ring I think. I know Fitbit style bands have existed in the past, but I don't want a screen on it.
@OneLessCar

I've never thought of that but you're right the same sleek numberless tracker idea as a bracelet would be a lovely option.

Concerning the bins, there are no dedicated storage spaces that is why they happen to be outside on the sidewalks/pavements. Loved this video by the way. 👌🏽

Those changes were to achieve a more upright position, which I prefer for endurance riding. Had I got the smaller size my saddle in relationships to my handlebars would have had me in an even more aggressive position as it would have been raised higher out of the seat tube to accommodate my 32" inseam. I've also had multiple bike fits and the one I had on my first road bike the fitter advised I could have gone up a size, another factor in my choice.

Thanks for the reviews, very good presentation and clearly explained. Just one thing, the black Vado isn't a step thru model as the bar on a step thru is below the rear wheel bar.

I am looking at transitioning from my road bike with the skinny tires to something like the turbo vado or turbo vado sl. I am 71 with about 12 years of riding and doing triathlons and was always one of the slowest. I also recently had a nerve seizure in my leg that aggravated the numbness (nuropathy) in my feet and legs. This has made it difficult, balance wise, getting on, getting going and stopping. I feel so insecure now. I still want to get the exercise which hasn’t been much the last couple years. With that background information any suggestions on going regular or SL? How hard are they to ride with no assist and what kind of workout would I get on eco assist? Thanks

Why the batteries? The Moulton should be ridden analogue. Instead of "conserving battery" why not use your own battery? Thats a sporty bike so why add battery weight only to be frugal with it? I ride 20" Xootr Swift in a mountaneous environment and I manage just fine without any assist. Don't get me wrong - e-bikes have their place. But batteries add weight and dumb things down. Why have a high performance bike then add a couple kilos of motor and battery then not use it?

I’ve ridden vintage and modern Moultons as my only choice of bike unassisted for years and love them all, however you ride the bike you like, so if this works and helps some folk access Moulton magic or to your point re e-bikes in general, any bike for that matter, I think it’s great. The important thing is to get on the bike and ride 😊

How do you travel with an e-bike? The battery(s) in particular seem hard to transport AFAIK since you can't fly with them.

thank you for your nice video and beneficial knowledge about e-Bikes, I got a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ . Really it is perfect, I am a 66 years old and with 18 years of riding story, some of the standard equipment on the bike like are a little low standard and a little heavy cassette =Sram nx to Sram GX , chain Sram nx to Sram GX , Piraxis chranc Arm to Sram GX , And Nimbu Tires to,?? and Seatpost ?? To increase performance and keep the battery charge and range, I want to change and upgrade some components on my E-bike , I want to know your idea about the issue,

A nice common sense commentary on cycle way design, Recently in Edinburgh all those terrible designs have been introduced and roads that I was previously able to cycle along have become more hostile with drivers believing that they have the right to kill cyclists who don't use the cycle way. They also make turning left and right much more complicated, and if the lane doesn't allow you to travel where you want to go then tough luck. The worst offenders on the roads are non-advanced car drivers and they should be removed from the roads, not cyclists! Edinburgh is so bad now I don't even want to cycle anymore.
@OneLessCar

😔 The priority of cars over all else is very frustrating. The UK refuses to use basic design guides that are out there created by countries that have decades of experience. We must reinvent the wheel... So frustrating.

At last! A proper paved cycle path in England! Not gravel patch, a sheep pasture or a narrow road. I can't wait until the paved Tweed Valley Cycleway from Moffat to Berwick on Tweed is finished in 2027. A tarmac cycle path from the land of John McAdam himself. The world is waiting for this ride. See you there!
