When I worked on the strip job and we had turn wrenches in the winter, we saved all our used engine old and burned it in smudge pots.

Mike, the 3 best ideas I have for working in cold temperatures: 1. Only work in the north when its.... A. Above 65° B. It aint raining C. Convenient 2. Move south 3. Pay somebody else to deal with the issues !

HEY CAPTAIN , IF YOU RUN YOUR TRUCK TO WARM THINGS UP, THEN WHY IS YOUR TRUCK DOOR SEEMINGLY ALWAYS OPEN EVEN YEAR AROUND ? I ALSO NOTICE ON DIRT PERFECT'S CHANNEL HE LEAVES HIS TRUCK DOOR OPEN A LOT. IS THIS A LEARNED HABIT OR IS IT A NORTHERN THING ? I LOOK FORWARD TO ONE OF YOUR SMOOTH DRY / SARCASTIC RESPONSES! I ENJOY YOUR CHANNEL THANKS FOR ALL THE ENTERTAINMENT🤣🤣🤣

Hi Mike. Good tips for working during winter. Some things a fella wouldn't think of if he hadn't experienced the downsides themselves. I think part of the benefit of a burn pile is that no matter where you are in the general vicinity, you can smell it, and your nose makes you think you are warmer.

Don't forget to put a hand warmer in your underwear as well. Lol.

Thanks, used most of those tips thru out my career, the biggest thing about working in winter is the expectations, winter usually means “ it ain’t going to happen as quick as it does in the summer”. Enjoyed watching.

Another tip a fellow in Southern Indiana could use other than making sure your lighter stays in your pocket is to elevate your building materials off the ground so you don’t lose them under the snow.

Good tips ,but I can't believe you leaving your generator and lumber out when it was going to snow when you have the the boat house available to put that stuff into. It would have saved time and money cleaning and melting the snow off the equipment and materials.

Just trying to figure out what Tetris skills you have to fit all of that inside a 250 sq foot space and still have room to work on what needs worked on. 🤣

Hello Mike. Most of these tips were, to me, common sense. Having a burn pile 30 feet away does nothing for a person but the thought of heat nearby can be encouraging. The cooler was the best one to me. I can't remember if you have replaced the door handle, but if you haven't, perhaps a piece of cord or rope might work until replacement. Have good days!

I figured it out early in my career of working outside year round ( 10 years in oilfield and 20ish in construction was when your in the truck going to work, lunch etc, widow down and heater or air conditioner off. Keeping your self acclimated is key to being able to put in the day outside. It wasn’t easy to get the other guys to figure it out that getting nice and toasty at lunchtime was why they froze and shivered after getting out of the truck. And several summer days they were sick after lunch and had to toil away in the sun. Blessings brother.

My advice is to shut the truck door, that will help keep the heat in.

The adolescent in me got a giggle when you put the lighter in your pocket and it just fell right out. Then the parent in me kept looking to see if you saw it and picked it up. Keep the tips flowing
