You know a tool every shade tree mechanic/homesteader needs when working on his/her junk and that is a or multiple soup can lead hammers. Collect yourself some scrap lead (wheel weights/old plumbers lead/old fishing weights etc) a cheap cast iron skillet or Dutch oven or equivalent, soup cans of various sizes, hammer handles of your choice, a drill and drill bit or two to make the handle hole, a ladle, gloves and a nice hot fire. I probably have yapped enough and you can probably figure out the rest. I have soup can hammers weighing in at about 3, 5, and 10 pounds. Good luck and I enjoy your channel.

I found this to be more like how I used to do my vehicle repairs, or as I used to call these jobs, botch and scamper, so glad I was not the only one, by the way here is a great tip for anyone on a limited budget and has an old car, I used to take my car when it had a problem and ask the mechanic, hey I think I have a problem can you check it out and give me a price, they would find the problem and the price was always ridiculous, so I would tell them nay I have to think about that and save up, I then drove to the scrapyard and bought an old cheap replacement part and fit it myself, saved me a fortune over the years, and always remember if you dont think it has solved the problem or you don't think it will last, sell sell sell.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Just subscribed to your new channel if you ever decide you have reached the end of the internet and need some new content you might find the turn right machine shop interesting. The guy has more knowledge about machining things than most people out there. His videos are usually pretty long but Thant’s due to the highly detailed content. I have to admit I haven’t watched much lately but his older videos were amazing in content and his ability to remake needed parts that either aren’t available or just stupidly priced. His technique for straightening bent shafts approaches magic levels, yet he explains it step by step. I think his primary calling is making and fixing props for boats being he’s located on long island. I think from rumblings he may be retired from the aircraft industry. Wishing you and your family the best.

Mike, what's the part number for the part that's damaged still? No guarantees but I can sometimes find used but good parts if that might help you out. No promises of course. I only have the JD 455 AWS tractor but it serves me well and No, I am not easy on anything I own. I also repair all my own machines from trucks, shid steers, dump and Tow trucks. Let a friend borrow my old 10,000 pound trailer and he bent, busted the Frame!!!! Never understood how dense some people are. Anyhow, shoot me a part number and I'll see if I can get lucky for You!

Thank you for the video. I might have a similar issue but wanted to see if you can confirm what I am experiencing is similar to what you were on my 30HP kubota B7800. My 4WD will momentarily engage and pop in and out of 4WD after it starts to rotate. The wheels never lock up like you mentioned yours did. I assumed it was further up the line, internal to the transmission, but your video gave me hope that it may just be a gear/bearing near the wheel.. Any insight you can provide confirming this symptom would help. The dealership in my town said they would have to split the tractor in half to diagnose and that would be a lot of labor that doesn't include the repair costs.

That’s just it, these are light duty Front Wheel Assist tractors. We’ve run four of these units over the years. Your custom cut tires have turned your front axle into a fuseable link... We never had bevel gear issues until we went with more aggressive tires. More rear ballast and carve up the rear tires instead of the fronts. Or just keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll have plenty of video content! We’ve had an 855 and three 955’s. Take care of your machine, because the newer versions aren’t nearly as durable. Bless’ns to ya, Tedd
