This video surprises me. I bought ccs tuning utilizing efi live with a sotf option from you all a few weeks ago for my 2012 Ram 6.7. I spoke to two tech support people twice at length before placing an order. Both people discouraged trans tuning. Which tuner (ccs, amdp, etc) is writing the tunes you are speaking so highly of in this video? Love the ccs engine tuning btw?🤘

I had a 2011 LML that started with 280,000 km on it. Used it for a hotshot running Indiana to western Canada. Deleted it the day I got it, cp4 killed my wallet at 315,000km, head gaskets popped around the 330-340,000km mark, turbo blew from a fluke accident where my oil filter literally broke off while driving in Sask when it was -40 out. Trans & crank held together the entire time I owned it though. Sold it with 681,000 km on it. All in all I’d say it was a good truck

Hello, I am a tuner. I use other platforms to tune the vehicles. However, I would like to start using EZ LYNK once I heard good things about it and I am having many troubles with other platforms. My questions are: How to write a tune? Which tool do I use? Will it be on my PC or phone? Thank you!

I tried installing a TCM tune today on my 2011 Duramax with EZ-Lynk but it failed and now in have no communication with the TCM and have the U0101 code. Does anyone have a solution for this?
@dirtydieselcustomАй бұрын
Can you restart and try to flash it back to stock? We try not to sell 11-16 Duramax's TCM tuning because they often have issues. If you can try to flash it again, at the end when it tells you to turn the key off, wait at least 30-40 seconds when it tells you that before actually turning the key off. This has sometimes helped the 11-16 TCM's take tunes. If none of that works and you cannot get communication, you likely need a TCM controller.

So on the cummins is the sotf tune include the trans tuning? I can't seem to select the tcm portion to upload a trans tune there without it overwriting the ecm tune Also do I need a seperate tune for weight loss or do most tunes include that? All through dirty diesel btw
@dirtydieselcustom2 ай бұрын
The Cummins has the TCM tuning included in the ECM file because they run through one unit. And you should see emissions on and off tunes, Rate C tunes are emissions on, and the rest are weight loss tunes.
@dirtydieselcustom2 ай бұрын
You should see tunes which have TCM in the title which will include TCM tuning, if it doesn't mention TCM tuning then it is only an engine tune.

Hello I had a question about tuning platforms. I have an 18 Ram tuned with mm3 right now is it worth swapping over to EZLynk? Looking at upgrading a turbo and fueling, but I’m having issues finding a tuner for MM3. If you think it’s worth the swap how hard would it be to convert over tuners?
@dirtydieselcustom2 ай бұрын
If you've got the MM3 already we can just get you set up with a new set of tunes instead of a whole new tuner. The EZ-Lynk is a great tuner with a lot of features that we can certainly get for you, and it'll just overwrite the tunes that are the truck with no issues. But if you already enjoy the MM3 there's no sense ditching a tuner you already like and we can get you some new tunes to match that turbo! Check out your truck listings under "tune files" at Dirtydieselcustoms.ca

If ceramic ball bearing turbo fails. What’s the upgrade then back to steel ball bearings Do diesel turbos see much higher temps than gas applications like sports cars, and tuners?
@dirtydieselcustom2 ай бұрын
Exactly, the replacements are steel ball-bearing turbos which are farm more reliable! Diesel exhaust gas temps are usually lower but the airflow is slower at lower rpms so the heat dissipation is slower. This issue might have been more build quality rather than a specific issue with them being ceramic.

question... i want to buy a 2500. I dont plan to modify it or tow or anything... i just like the truck. Im not planing to mod anything more than a leveling kit, maybe try to soften the suspension so that its a "smooth" daily driver... do you think any of those to automatics will give me any problem?... my budget allows me to but 2010 to 2016... more realisticly 2010-2012 vechiles with 50-60k miles (im in peru, not that much parts to fix the transmisions and i need to import them if something fails, thats why i ask)
@dirtydieselcustom2 ай бұрын
That's awesome that you want to import one! We love seeing these trucks everywhere! If you are keeping it stock then both transmissions can be good, the 68rfe is a smoother transmission as well so better for daily driving. I don't think you'd have an issue with either transmission, if you go with a 68 I think you'll like it better, just get a deep pan and thermostat delete and you should be good!
@predator57232 ай бұрын
@@dirtydieselcustom Yea, the prices in the US right now are basicly the same as here in peru... 10-20% so i might get the truck second hand here but i will import most stuff... as i said, daily driver so the last thing i need is a big boom while driving hahaha

Looking to buy a 05 f350 dually with about 135k. Only 5k$ Was a company vehicle that’s upgrading their fleet. I’ll only put 5k miles on it per year hauling firewood and Christmas trees. It’s overkill for sure but seems like a good deal. I’ve never owned diesel before. Is this a bad idea?
@dirtydieselcustom2 ай бұрын
That seems like a pretty good deal for a low-mileage truck! It's always hard to say for sure but once you get it change the fuel filter and do an oil change just to ensure they're good, maybe run some Hot Shot fuel additive to the tank because it'll sit for quite a bit. Don't overheat it and it should be a good unit!

Went to look at a 2011 f350 with 74k miles on it. When do the pumps fail if they do? Don’t wanna buy a ticking time bomb
@dirtydieselcustom3 ай бұрын
CP4's are hit and miss, we've replaced them on 21's with under 50k and we've got customers who have trucks over half a million and they're running fine. The usual culprit on a CP4 is bad gas, water in fuel, bad maintenance etc. And on the 11's they're the early style pumps so they're more susceptible to issues. 74k is decent miles though, you'd likely be good if you kept up on filter changes, good fuel and a fuel system saver of some kind.
