"In out together" - can you please elaborate on whether arms and legs coordinate simultaneously? I cannot coordinate properly; I seem to be using my arms and legs simultaneously, and of course, I still cannot breathe yet. I have been swimming for 5 weeks.
@AaquaticsUKКүн бұрын
Sure, that is the trickiest part. I use those words to time the actions and get you moving. But when you drill down into the stroke you find that the legs snap and you use that snap the propel you forward as the arms pull to lift you out. So in more advanced technique the legs go before the arms by a very small amount. I will do a video for you soon to explain the exact timing - but if you need any exercises or help, get in touch with us by email and I can help you out!

So that is more of an advanced technique and yes can be useful in pool conditions. This is more of a broad explanation and something I teach beginners to be able to sight themselves in the pool. I will mention this advanced technique in our future advanced series 👍

Technically both. You start with the shoulder initiating the pull. The elbow bends and helps get your hand moving and the shoulder brings the power. I will do a video on high elbow pull - but that will be part of our swimming advanced series. Thanks 👍

Nice explanation i am a beginner, i m struggling to breath second time how can i exhale? First breath has to be easy. I don't know please explain. I know i m holding my breath after taking my first breath
@AaquaticsUK12 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment. Make sure you are fully exhaling underwater, and breathing in when you lift your head out of the water. Practice standing still, exhaling for three seconds underwater (blowing bubbles) and lift your head to breath. If you are still struggling let me know and I’ll make a video for you to explain how to practice 😁 good luck!!
@Mita_20238 күн бұрын
@@AaquaticsUK Yes please make a video, I'm still struggling, I feel like after I exhale fully in the water, and I turn to the side, I don't have enough time to breathe 😢
@AaquaticsUK8 күн бұрын
I will do! Give us a couple of weeks and I’ll get one out for you. But in the meantime, make sure you are extending your arm full and pulling all the way back. That will give you enough time to fully inhale and also benefit your stroke by pulling back more water behind. Let me know how you get on and follow us for your video 👍

I love the way you teach. You don’t just show how to do it but you explain what every bit of movement does, why we do it & its effect on the water. As a beginner I appreciate this. Please do more videos. Am having a hard time breathing on my side during freestyle. I also failed my treading with eggbeater kick test. Will take the class again and hope to pass with your coaching🙏 (mom from 🇨🇦)

Hi, I had total knee replacement on my both knees, I want to learn breast stroke. But because of total knee operation I can’t bend completely, to bring my legs near my bottom. I can bend only upto 90% . So do you think I can’t do breast stroke properly?
@AaquaticsUK28 күн бұрын
Best to follow your doctor’s advice. But from experience this won’t be a problem for you at all. Even with the limited range of motion, you will still be able to perform the leg action and it will help you to strengthen the associated muscles and tendons around the joint. I’d recommend trying it with the legs in isolation, perhaps buy yourself a pool noodle and pop it under your arms and try the leg action. I will film a video for you soon, to show different ways to practice all of these things in multiple ways. In the meantime best of luck, let us know how it goes! 👍 If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out.

Some coaches teach high elbow pull (fingers facing the floor of the pool) engaging lats instead of the pull you are showing. Can you please clarify which is better ?
@AaquaticsUKАй бұрын
This can cause excess rotation in the shoulder and cause drag when returning the hands to the neutral position. Better to not fight the water and keep as efficient as possible, to ensure a sustainable stroke over hundreds (or thousands) of repetitions

Some coaches say you should not go wide with your arms...make it a small circle in front??
@AaquaticsUK28 күн бұрын
Yes as I mention, we don’t want to create too big a circle in front of you. A reasonable size, but definitely don’t let your arms go behind your shoulder line when pulling back! 👍

Try moving yourself through the water in a shallow depth. Get used to the feeling of the resistance of the water pushing you in the other direction. Use your sculling hands to move left, right, backwards and forwards. The practice your flutter kick lying on your back, get some power in there and get moving. Then finally put it all together treading water. Let me know how it goes and I can give you more tips if you need 👍👍
