When do u time the kick

In the beginning, if you use the words 'in, out & together to time the kick and the arms', you will find that gets you close. Then, as you progress and start looking for speed and efficiency, the kick comes slightly after the pull initiates. We will be doing an intermediate series on this in the future. "In out together" - can you please elaborate on whether arms and legs coordinate simultaneously? I cannot coordinate properly; I seem to be using my arms and legs simultaneously, and of course, I still cannot breathe yet. I have been swimming for 5 weeks.

Sure, that is the trickiest part. I use those words to time the actions and get you moving. But when you drill down into the stroke you find that the legs snap and you use that snap the propel you forward as the arms pull to lift you out. So in more advanced technique the legs go before the arms by a very small amount.
